Hmmm.
When I'm just stressed out and tired after a long day, I normally relax with a nice, long, hot shower. Either alone or with my partner, depending on how I feel.
As well as this, walking, reading and laying down listening to music almost always work a treat.
To release some tension, punching my punching bag or going for a run, or a nice love-making session always helps.
And then there's stress and anger about my partner/work/school/my day/family etc, and I hang out with my friends or partner, go out and do something fun to ease my mind.
It definitely depends on the situation and my mood.
Again, What do you do to relax? And do you often take time out to do so?
I know that I do as much as possible, provided that I'm not being selfish and slacking off on things that need to be done.
I've found that not many people really take the time to relax and unwind...

Aww I wish I had a punching bag that would be so much fun. Not run, I tend to hold my breath. I don't have much time for myself these days with a baby...but long hot showers, candlelit baths, reading - sleep, just laying in bed now at night when my thoughts are fully my own...singing helps a lot to relax....
Taking time to relax is so important for us and for those around us, the more we give ourselves time to re-energize the more we have to give to others. I bet you know that already though!!!

I would say the exact same thing of you. With all your walking - is it really called walkabout? - you seem to be a free spirit...who has had many adventures.
I sing a lot - which makes my baby happy. I sung to him when he was still inside...Some songs I had to stop singing because I was so emotional from the hormones they made me cry - some because I associated them with the baby, some because I sung them when my cat was alive - he would always come when I sang (no, it isn't that bad) and the songs I sang to him whle I was pregnant I could no longer sing after we put him to sleep because he had skin cancer. They would remind me of him. Wow I must be tired. I'm rambling more than usual! Have to get to sleep!

Firstly, I have to say:
your child is very lucky to have such an interesting mum!
they're going to grow up into a wonderful member of society,
i hope that they have all the appreciation in the world for you!
You're right, singing is really helpful, just the other night I felt really tired and irritable, and so my partner took care of dinner etc so I could have a lie-down.
In the end, I laid with my eyes closed and sang for an hour or so.
I felt so well-rested and like i had my 'second wind'.
You definitely seem to be an in-tune, together sort of person. That's a great trait, again, your friends, partner and child are very lucky to have you =]

Great past time. I love the beach and mysteriously, have chosen, along with my husband, who also loves the ocean, to live in the desert!

Hi artemis432! Yes, it somehow differ. With my husband, we usually cuddled together infront of the television and watch movies or sometimes listen to music. With my friends, we usually stay in one house and just talk and reminisce our days when we were still young and if I am all by myself, I usually just stay in our garden and water the plants. All of those activities relaxes me, somehow rejuvenating me and I do enjoy those simple activities shared with the people I love. Have a nice day and take care.

Thanks Faith, its great that you have so many ways to recharge. Some find they relax more on their own, some find spending time with others is more rejuvinating. I thnk I'm the same as you in some ways, had I a garden - it would definitely go a long way to relaxing me, naps and showers/baths too. My husbnd and I will relax watching tv and its nice to get together for dinner with friends....

on my own, i either watch the television or just sleep and catch up on lost sleep. with my friends, sometimes we do internet games or playstation or play cards. i'm not with anybody yet so the third one is ruled out. =)
my choice of relaxation differs with the company i'm with. =)

I love your avatar from the Lion King!
Sleep is my favourite thing to do - I love dreaming - its more exciting and advneturous than my real life, although I swear I've lived lifetimes in dreams.
Thanks for participating. You'll find someone.
