Had to leave the puppy behind

Before we left SA, my family and my bro (who lives w us) got a new puppy. He was the most beautiful thing in the world and we loved him to bits, esp my toddler. But then we moved to the USA and the hard decision was whether to leave him behind with my bro who's really his "daddy" and loves him to bits and takes excellent care of him, or bring him with us, have him go through quarantine for 3-6 months and then have him confined to a tiny 2 bedroom apartment with no room to romp and play. (He's a boxer, so needs a lot of room). So we made the decision to leave him behind for his own sake, but everytime we receive pics of him or hear stories about how he's grown and is so cute and intelligent, it makes our hearts sore cos we miss him so. We thought of getting another dog, but still it wouldn't be fair to have one while living in an apartment. We miss Simba so much tho that sometimes we get a little homesick for him.

Have you thought about visiting the shelters to help ease your pain and loss? There are so many there that need your love and presence in hopes to be taken out for a walk or even trained so that some day someone will adopt them. I did that when I lived in another state and want to do it again as soon as I'm settled in here. It's such a rewarding experience.

I'm sorry to hear that :(
I'd hate that and I think I could never leave my puppy behind :(
