Smuggled Expensive Cars

Smuggled cars are destroyed by Philippine Bureau of Customs to convey to smugglers their strong message of not conforming to illegal activities by some quarters. Now they are selling the destroyed expensive cars as scrap perhaps for additional government income. The poor Juan de la Cruz is not amenable to what the authorities did and argued that it is supposed to be sold and be given to the less fortunate Filipinos. Is the government action in the above case correct? Do you have any idea?

What about the original owners? Do they get any recourse? I think you are probably right, less fortunate people who obey the law should be given some help. We had a similar thing in LA where the government was destroying illegal weapons, burning them and making concrete. These weapons were only illegal because the people did not have a permit. I think they could have sold them and gotten money for the less fortunate.

Right, Kykidd It was destroyed in response to a court order. Can not comprehend sometimes the intelligent ones when they are doing no sense, worse is, they are doing it commonly without common sense.
