Anchor Text

Can someone please explain what anchor text is and how it works? If you have a site to suggest for my learning, please send it in a message. Thanks in advance. :)

Anchor text is something that the search engines will look for during searches. For example, if you have site on making money online, then an anchor text of Online Money would be relevant. When someone searches for online money, your site has a good potential to show up in the search engines.
