Does anyone else do a countdown to nap time?

I know I sound bad, but do find yourself doing a mental or even physical countdown to your kids naptime? I love my kids and I don't really ever get a break with three running around. My two older ones feel they are too big for naps, and can't make through 20 minutes of quiet time. BUt my youngest still naps. He gets up at 7:29 every morning on the minute. And by 11:30 the grouchy bear that resides in him shows its ugly side. Even the older boys look foward to his naps. They start asking around 10 if it is time for his nap. Or do I want them to go play in another room or outside so I can put him to bed. It is so sad but true. If it did not keep my sanity I would amost feel ashamed to admit I look foward to it. Anyone else feel the same, or am I the only one?

Just because you look forward to a little time of peace an quiet doesn't mean you don't love your child. Everyone needs a little time to relax each day. I have a 5 year-old that still takes naps. I look forward to them the closer it gets to that time of day. He is so active I am also looking forward to him starting kindergarden in a little over a week. It doesn't mean we don't love our children, just that sometimes we need a break. I little me time with out them wanting our attention.

My daughter won't take a nap for me anymore, but she will in preschool. So I find myself doing a countdown to bedtime so that I can get a few hours to wind down. You are definitely not the only one...I think this is true of almost every mother. I only have one, so I can imagine what you go through with 3 and how tired you must be! Don't feel guilty, it's completely normal.
