What was your blessing today?

So what was your blessing today? It may be something small, or something large. For me, it was when I gave my two dogs a bath. A lot of you know I have a lot of health problems. Bathing my dogs in the tub always makes my back hurt like agony. They are too big for the sink, and I can't afford a groomer. So I gave my dogs a bath, and when I was done I went about my business. That is when I realized I had NO back pain. Not even the regular day back pain. I just thought, thank you Lord! So often I look for the big blessings, but fail to see the many small ones right in front of me. So please tell me about your blessing today. If you try hard, I think everyone can think of one. : )

I'm glad you get to bath your dogs without suffering back pain. Also you bought up a good point that I have been missing.. counting our blessings. This past month I have done nothing but complain and unfortually I feel that I have a right to complain. My health is okay, not great but I can manage but this past month we have had an incredible heat wave and this has exhausted me!! We are in debt, not great debt but more than I like, so have been moaning about that. I also look for the big blessing and miss the small ones, like my nine year old who just made my breakfast because he knows that I hate to cook in the heat or my older boy who takes care of the younger ones so I can close my eyes for a few minutes, or my other son who helps with the difficult kids that I teach English too. I could go on but you get my drift!! Being more grateful for what I have instead of wanting more or different would really help. I'm glad I came across your post this morning, a good way to start the day off... Thank you.

hi, ambiepam. You are right, there's always blessing in our life if we really give a time to think about it. I have several today actually. 3 of them come in the mail. A check worth $50 ( LOL )...and then a letter from my first daughter school that they already sign her teacher for the coming year, and a letter from pre scool for my second daughter that they already sign her class too plus a warm welcoming note from their teacher. I might probably have more. But that's for now, no matter how much bill we have...LOL...but there's always blessing day by day

That's great. And that is so impressive that that teacher sent that note. I bet this is a very good school year for your daughters.

That is so great AmbiePam, I am SOOOO happy to hear that your back didn't hurt after bathing the dogs! For me my biggest blessing was when I went to get my 14 month old out of her crib. I love how at that age the second they see you they smile and put their arms up right away! She really is a blessing as I was told for ten years that I couldn't have children. Take Care! Love & Hugzz

You know, I just try to imagine what you went through. To be given no hope, and then to have this major blessing. I can't imagine the agony and then the enormous amount of love you must feel.

What a great idea for a discussion. Too often we think of the negatives each day brings. My blessing came when I woke up and was slammed with the worst headache of my life. And I get alot of migaines. Only, I'm nursing so I can't really take anything. If I get one in the afternoon or evening - I suffer through to the night and take Excederin Migraine which takes the edge off. Besides nursing my baby though, I don't like to take too much medication as it builds up in the liver and who knows what other problems the accumulative effect will have. If you've gotten down here you're probably asking yourself where the blessing is. The blessing is my husband. My husband, who works nights and hates getting up early, took the baby with no complaint. Just got up and took care of the baby while I went and into the dark bedroom and waited until my headache went down to a bearable level. Its better now, went from excruciating to bad to a manageble normal headache. I don't know what I would've done without him as I kept getting surges of pain and dizzyness that would have severely impaired taking care of my baby. By the way - I'm really glad your back feels so good today. Would your Doctor approve of Massage Therapy - because you can go to a school clinic and get massages for a nominal fee. Good luck and have fun.

That truly is a blessing. I suffer from migraines, I get about nine a month. Sometimes I have to go to the ER. But I'm not nursing or taking care of a baby, so I can have medication without it hurting me. I can't imagine how much pain you suffered, with no real ability to treat it in a satisfactory manner. My doctor would approve of a massage school, but I am don't have much money at all. I bet though, I could save up my mylot money and eventually use it to treat myself by getting a massage at a local vocation school. Thanks for the idea! And I hope you stay migraine free. By the way, have you tried Head On? Since you rub it on your head, I don't think it would interefere with nursing, but I'm not sure. It doesn't work well for me, but I know other people who say it is a life saver.

Im so glad that you did not forgot to thank God for the blessing that you recieved. I do agree with you, sometimes we wait for the big blessing that God will give us so that we fail to notice the small blessings that he is giving every second. The fact that we are still breathing is blessing enough for me. Your back pain maybe a sign of some serious problem in your spinal area. I am worried about you having herniated disk. Better let that check by your doctor soon OK? The blessing that I recieve today is when you reminded me to notice the small blessings that God had given me.

I'm glad this discussion blessed you. I have a lot of things to thank God for. Without Him, I don't know where I'd be. And thank you for your concern about my back. I've been to several doctors and surgeons. I was in a bad car accident 8 years ago and about 6 discs in my neck and back were torn or herniated. Surgery is too risky, so I just try to get by. I'm just thankful for the time I have that is pain free. : )

We've had a few blessings already today. First we got to sleep in late. Our children are very early risers so any extra time to sleep on a Saturday morning is a huge blessing. Our children have been sick lately and it seems to be lasting longer than the average cold and I was blessed this morning to figure out what was causing them to be sick. They have a lot of allergies and I had a dream right before I woke up about which allergy was bothering them and it was right! So that's a huge blessing since our children won't have to suffer with it anymore, and it's something that we can easily fix. I know God is taking care of us.

That's so cool that you had that dream. It's probably something that would have taken a doctor a long time to discover.

We've been very fortunate to figure out a lot of things. My husband figured out that our youngest son was allergic to my soap. The doctors had been treating him for asthma for about 6 weeks and were shocked that we figured it out on our own. We also figured out that both of our sons have Asperger's (high functioning autism) plenty of doctors missed that one. God had inspired us to figure out so much. That's a blessing by itself.

I first want to say what a great discussion this is. Today, my blessing was being able to see my girlfriend. I know it's a cliche answer, but it really means a lot to me when she drives an hour to see me, just so we can watch a movie and have dinner. I love it, and she makes me happy. I am blessed just to know a girl like her.

I'm so glad you were able to bathe your dogs without your back hurting. That is a major blessing! My blessing for the day was talking to my two step-daughters on the phone. I always enjoy talking to them and to the grandkids. I also got to sleep 30 minutes later than usual today. Very nice blessing!!

I don't know if I'd call it a blessing but I was very grateful for my air conditioner. I woke up very early this morning and it was downright cold in here so I opened the door and checked the outside temp. It was really nice outside so I shut the ac off. I layed back down and fell back to sleep. Upon waking a few hours later I was drenched in sweat, sick to my stomach and it was so hot and humid in here I was absolutely miserable. To say the least I turned the air back on and layed down on the couch until it cooled off. Now I'm tired from getting overheated earlier but at least it's nice and cool now. I might have to take a nap before too long though. :D I love my air conditioner.

That was truely a blessing. But there was so many blessings for me today. Most of them we don't even acknowledge as blessings but they are. My first blessing was waking up this morning and seeing that everything was okay. I was blessed to have food on my table. I was blessed to have shelter today. I was blessed to have clothes on my body and blessed to have transportation. I took my daughter for her checkup today and everything was okay, thats truly a blessing. I was blessed with good health today. And their are many more blessings that I'm thankful, but I will not go on and on about them.

my blessing today was doing the chores and seeing myself, my sister and brother doing stuff around the house without any prodding...it was like we were all thinking that the house needed some cleaning and each did his/her part, which was nice; the parents arrived to a really clean house, and it felt good ;)

I rarely get to spend a lot of one on one time with my mom, but I got to spend several hours with her today. She helped me out with a writing assignment I had and it turned out even better than I had hoped. It was just nice to be able to spend lots of uninterrupted time with her, laughing and cutting up while we worked.

I am glad you gave bath to your dogs without sufferring from a back ache. For me blessing today is that I completed all my household chores before My daughter woke up. This is really a blessing for me today. When awake she wants me to be present with her throughout. Even when she does her school studies she wants me seated next to her. So completing my other job before she woke up is a blessing in disguise for me today.

Awww your poor thing back pain is no fun. Im glad you didnt have any pain after washing your dogs thats a huge job. I would say my blessing is that I washed a couple of things out by hand because we dont have a washer yet. And they dried somewhat before the rain came. Take it easy girl with that back!

My blessing was yesterday. A venonmous snake, a Cottonmouth, slithered 8 inches from my feet and went into a nearby wood pile. My neighbor came over and killed it after my dog located its hiding place. I am blessed with a champion dog with a big heart and a marvelously brave neighbor who happens to be a woman! sunny waters

Hi there my friend! Just woke up, I decided to open myLot since I have not been on for quite a long time. Well, my blessing for today is I woke up without feeling anything bad. I have been sick for two weeks because of the bad weather here and took me long to recover. I just got out of the hospital 2 days ago. I'm glad I was able to survive. Lost around 15 pounds though.

AmbiePam, that is fantastic. Not feeling pain is indeed a real blessing. A couple years ago, I injured my back in a pretty bad fall in the kitchen and was in constant pain, especially when I was sitting down. So, that made it impossible to work online. After a year the pain went away, but it made me miserable while it was there. I can definitely relate to your situation living in pain. Here are some of my blessings for the day. My toddler took a nap today and that gave me some extra money making time on My lot. For us that money is a real blessing when bills arrive. And, I checked my Paypal balance and My Lot has already paid me for last month. So, that money will be used for this months auto insurance! Yippee for me. Be well.

Well for me, having to wake up early the next day to face a brand new day is already a blessing. So each time I wake up I thank the Lord for giving me that special blessing and for giving me the chance to do things that I have not done or to say things that I haven't said before, to fix things that I ruined or ask forgiveness for those I have hurt and to give hope to those who lost their way.
