There are many times when I have had to keep several pieces of paper together for whatever reason....usually I use a paperclip if I am going to have to handle these papers again...but if I am finished with them except for the fact that I need to keep them for whatever reason...then I staple them to gether..... What is your preference? Are you like me when deciding your preference?

in school, i dont use notebooks. i like coupon bonds as for my notes cause it gives me much space i think. and the size of a notebook bothers me much. it occupy my bag's space. using coupon bonds, it's hard to integrate notes that were stapled so i use paper clips. pulling pages is easier using paper clips.

i just staple them unless if i only want them for a quick time then i put a clip on them, instead of wasting staples. saves them getting lost if theres a staple in them

Working as a tax preparer it is ingrained in me to use staples. Papers tend to stay together and you can also tell whether papers were with the originals or if someone stuck them in later. I use paper clips at home on some personal items but most often I use staples.

I prefer paper clips, because I can reuse them. If I am giving the papers to someone else, I paper clip them so it's easier for them to take them apart. But if I need the papers to stay together for awhile, I'll staple them.

I do not like to staple them for some reason. I much rather use a paperclip and when I am down I will put them i my file and in my draw. If I would ever need them again it will be easy to find and i do not have to think about stapling them together before =)

I usually never have either one of those when I need to keep papers together. So, I usually stick with what a teacher taught me in middle school. He hated staples and paper clips, so he taught us to put the papers together, turn down the left hand corner of the top of the papers, then you rip a small section on the fold a little to the right of the center, then about 1/8 of an inch from that rip, rip it again. This makes what looks like half a square (the two spots where you've ripped). Fold that down, and voila, papers joined. Simplicity can be good sometimes. :)

I much prefer paper clips, because the amount of times I have got a staple in my finger or the staple has come loose and the sharp piece has dug into my finger and drew blood! Only one thing worse than a staple injury and that's a paper cut! Paper clips are much better and besides if you want to add something it's easier, with a staple you have to take it out and restaple if you want to put another piece of paper to the already stapled bundle.

I hate it when I have to tear paper from a staple. But I prefer the stability of staples, they're not falling off or sliding around anytime. So I prefer staples. They just look... cleaner, on school work.

It really bugs me when I put something with a paperclip on it into my carrying bag and that paperclip gets hooked onto something else. They snag on all sorts of things and pull your pages apart or add stuff to your document. I much prefer staples that hold firmer. It bugs me that agents, publishers, editors, etc., want all work that is submitted to be paperclipped and not stapled. But I abide by that law. LOL!

I think I prefer staples because it is a little bit more stable. I really don't have to worry about my items being separated. It's a touch once deal.

Depending on what papers I am putting together I tend to use paperclips most of the time only because I have these on hand at home. I don't own a stapler but if I did, I would be using staples for receipts and things.

Staples - they are fairly easy to remove if need be but also much more secure than paper clips, and it drives me crazy when papers get all out of order and I am missing something important! Also, staples really are much smaller than a paper clip - so I guess if look at it in this light they are also a little bit more environmentally friendly as well!

Just like you depends a lot on usage of the bunch of papers. I get letters along with bunch of papers daily in my day job. I usually use staples but in some cases I use paper clips as well in case I need to separate them in future.

I use staples more than I use paperclips. My papers always seem to come loose when I use paperclips.

Well, if I know I'll need to move the papers around, I'll use the paper clips. But in general, I prefer the staples. It's much easier to keep everything together. But if you have to take the staples out, it doesn't look to good. Even if you use a staple remover.

it depends on the amount of paper you want to staple or to clip. imagine a half inch of paper document, well, figuring out how to staple that with an average stapler would be hell but using an average paper clip would do the job, but hey, if you have a "bigass" stapler then go for it!
