As I sit here and I think I have realized that not only do I stir coffee and drinks counter clockwise, but I also think I stir things I am cooking, like soups, clockwise instead! I'm gonna pay attention later if I think about and check when I am making dinner, but I am pretty sure I use both ways in different scenarios!

I prefer to make sure things are mixed up really well so I'll alternate and stir both ways until I'm sure it's all stirred in.
This reminded me of something my mom told me about her father. He left when she was onlt 8 or 9 so she barely remembers him so this is one of her few memories. He would drink tea but was very methodical about it. He would stir it clockwise, spill a little in the saucer, spoon it from the saucer to check the temperature and then repeat the process until it had cooled off enough. She remembers him specifically saying that stirring should be done clockwise only although she doesn't remember why.

I stir things clockwise. I think I also spin things, like pens or scissors, clockwise. Maybe it's because I'm right handed? Hmm...
