How Long Do You Wait Before You Get New Underwear?

Once more I give praise to Transdisc for this discussion, and I'm hoping I beat him to his final discussion he may post of the ever-thought provoking discussions he's been having concerning underwear.
So here is my entry for fame.
Okay..lets all confess here...How long do you wait before getting new underwear? Do you buy it on a regular basis before they wear out? Or, are you just a bit like me and hold off getting new underwear when they are ready to fall apart..AND just how bad does your underwear get before breaking down and getting new? Do you wait until the elastic band is so stretched out that you would need suspenders to hold them up? Do you wait until they are "holy"?
This should be an interesting serious discussion.

As soon as they start showing signs of wear, I get new ones. I can't stand wearing ugly underwear. I like pretty, functional and quality undies.

I have to confess the only reason I hang onto my old ones is sometimes I just plain don't have the money to get new...the kind I like are expensive--hanes just doesn't do it for me LOL

Hey Pyewacket - I love underwear and bulk up. I also wear boxers since my pregnancy - so comfortable - I wear them to sleep. I get cute cotton underwear that seems to last a while.

I have phases where I see something I like and buy it. I don't wait for wear and tear, if there's something that really appeals to me. I just have to have it, there and then. lol.
Whenever I can get away with it, I go without, anyway. Not quite skyclad but just something comfortable. :)
Brightest Blessings.

Well, there for awhile, I waited too long, and they started getting too tight. So now, I've been proactive, and I've been buying them quite often. If I'm in a store, where they're sold, I tend to look, quite often. If I see some that look comfy, and have a decent price, I've been buying them. I must admit, they have some really wierd ones out there, nowadays. lol None of those, little stringy things for me. I'd feel naked with them.

Hi pyewacket! I was smiling while reading the way you posted the questions. *hehehehe* Hmmm... on my part, I buy a new underwear when the elastic band is stretched, but not to the point that it's really stretched out! LOL... :p
Hmmm... let's just take the number of months. I buy undies twice in 3 months. :) hehe... The number of undies depends if I like the style. Usually, I buy 4 to 7 undies. :)
Take care and God bless! (",)

Since I only wear a tank top and undies to sleep in, I use the "old" pair for sleeping...LOL

I like to buy it on a regular basis...so one day I am not spending a ton of money when everything needs to be replaced.
I prefer to spread the costs out.

That is probably a better way to shop... I guess since clothes buying in general has never been on top of my list is the reason I put things off

I usually keep my underwear until it has a few small holes and the elastic isn't quite there anymore. LOL Though I do get rid of my undies if they keep creeping down into "Alien" style underwear and I have to constantly pull them up. You know the type that Sigourney Weaver wore in the movie? :P LOL I'm not sure how long I keep them from when I buy them new but I'd have to guess 8 months to a year. Sometimes longer if I don't wear them that often.

I have not bought new undies in a long time. I have lost 95lbs and I am still wearing the same undies. I know they do not fit as well but they are still good. I do need to buy new bras. I buy undies when I need them when I cannot stand all the strings hanging off of them or I have thrown all of them away and my a$$ is bear. I some how bought several pairs so I have a draw full I am good for another year or so.

I buy it constantly! None of mine is worn out because there isn't enough me to possibly wear all the pairs of panties, thongs, and other goodies I own. I usually buy at Victoria's Secret but I will buy pretty, cute, or sexy underwear anywhere, anytime, all the time! I love it. I actually color coordinate my panties with my outfit. Haha.
I guess it's a girl thing? An obsessive girl thing...

Victoria's secret is expensive though, no? Just once I would like to splurge and get some there

They have a lot of sales and I get at least one pair of panties free a month because I have their credit card. If you look online for coupon codes for the website, you can get free panties and other products just by using a coupon code. But yes, in general, they're pretty expensive. It is an indulgence, I guess.

Well I may not buy a lot of underwear, but I do at least wash them out daily so I wear a clean pair everyday--LOL

Funny you should bring this up. Just this morning I noticed a run in the underwear I had chose for the day. It was a small run, so I just put them on. But I do have standards. If I can poke my finger through the hole in the underwear, they go in the trash. If there a run from the front to the back, I throw them in the trash. After all, you never know when you're going to be in an accident. And with me being on disability, something bad could happen before I know it. LOL

LOL what a great topic Pywacket.
Ok, here goes. I have quite a large collection of undies, both the sexy and the practical. Most of the sexy stuff is in pretty good condition, however, the practical is another matter. I know I should chuck out the old stuff but generally wait until they are almost falling down before they go to the bin. I find that the older they get, the more comfortable they are and am reluctant to consign them to the bin.
I guess it's time I went though the knickers drawer :-)

It seems everything one wears gets to be nice and comfortable just when they're ready to fall apart...like shoes too...right?

Hi pyewacket,
Sadly, I wait way too long, and suffer from all of the problems (undie wise) that you've mentioned. I do have a couple that are in good shape at the moment, but I'd rather not talk about the state of the rest of them. What an interesting topic.:)

I don't wear mine until holes begin to show, pyewacket, but I am guilty of wearing them until I might need suspenders, lol. I wait until I can't get by any longer before I will buy new ones. That's usually about once a year. My nightgowns are a different story. They're not comfy until they get a hole or two.

I tend to do that myself...wait until I really do need them---I've never been much of a clothes buyer much in general...usually a once a year event in my life as well...LOL--You wear nightgowns..wow, haven't worn them in ages..usually just have a tank top and drawers....lol
