Is Clomid Effective?

i read before that some are taking clomid to help them get pregnant. is this really effective? is there any side effect of taking clomid? how long will it take to get pregnant if you're taking clomid?

Clomid can also cause hot flashes and mood swings, as well as causing a dry feeling "down there."
