My grandchildren are on myspace, along with most of the family, and we have had NO problems!
If you go to 'help' on myspace, they have all sorts of child locks, methods of screening and deletion, etc...
Your daughter shouldn't be unsupervised on the internet at her age, I agree... but myspace has gotten a bad rep because a lot of parents don't set rules or even pay attention to what their kids are doing, and thats when the bad stuff happens!

OH my 18? I am 16 and I pretty much can do whatever I want to do on the internet, I thin that depends on how well your child is educated, and how he sees the Myspace as. I have a Myspace, I did one to talk to friends I know from school, and after sometime I got boredXd and started talking to people I didn't know, and(My policy goes like this:) I think internet friends stay in the internet. Yes, I know there is a difference of 4 years, but if you know what he/her does in the internet and know that it won't be a threat to him, you should allow him/her.

i have a 12yrd old girl and she is NOT allowed to visit MySpace. no way i would even consider that. you hear too many horror stories. and even though my girl is a smart one..she also tends to be too trusting at times.
when she is 18..then she can lol.
