That was always my rule..
I've always hated smoking, but now something weird happened I tried a brand "More" that I really liked and I feel that I'm becoming an addicted.. I hate to admit it but I'm really enjoying it. Every time I smoke a cig I tell myself this is gonna be the last one but once I see the box I smoke again...
Now I'm smoking 1 to 2 cigarretts a day, I really want to stop this bad habit.. what can I do???

You say you want to and I quote, this bad habit? If you really want something bad enough in this life then you should find the strength in yourself which is in us all really and really hold onto it. It will bring you closer to your goal. I know it can be very hard for smokers to quit and have seen many people suffer as a result of it. They want to quit but they end up being totally addicted because they did it for a long time. However it is possible my friend if it is what you really want. I know this because I have seen it for myself, a few people close to me have quit successfully and have not touched it since. I guess if you really want something bad enough you will find a solution to your problem and will do anything to get you there.

Dear Bluemars,
I would like to thank you for your advice.. and I agree with you it is not that difficult to quit smoking, both my parents were heavy smokers, they both quit a long time ago and I think if I want to I can at any time...
The thing is I enjoy smoking from time to time I am not a heavy smoker I just like it.. as my friend Perry mentioned I think it is glamorous specially after reading his response I just liked it more :p
And to be honest I really find it sexy ;)
Hope someday I will quit like my parents I just don't think this will happen now..
I actually wanted to stop when I started this discussion but now I learned to enjoy it...
Thanks for the response :)

and honesty is truly a virtue.
Many people find it sexy morning dew...they have just fear saying it.
doesn't it feel good to stand up and be honest?
I didn't take her to the dark side blumars...she was already there....and now she can enjoy the glamour of what she knows to be true.

I guess she wants the allure of smoking more bluemars. And she should be allowed to make that choice without your vilification of smoking.
lol you are like a vampire hunter going round these smoking topics. And just like them you unedrestimate the allure of the darks side. Thing is...it was always glamorous but your demonisation has given it indcredible power now.
And Morning Dew knows and likes that power. Oh yeah it's a bad habit. Bad girl. Dangerous exciting sophisticated elegant dark....and that is just the brand she smokes.

When you are ready to quit smoking start by choosing a quiting date.Try to pick a date that is less then two weeks away.Smoking is peritted until your quit date but you may want to begin cutting back immediately. It is a good idea to tell your family and friends you are quiting and the date since this will provide you wiht posetive reinforcement.

Thank you ledfly for you response...
I don't smoke that much but I decided to enjoy it for now until I realize it is all bad... but until then I'll just enjoy the 3 to 5 cigs I smoke :D
Maybe one day I'll decide to quit who knows, I just hope the number doesn't increase ;)

I'm rather confused about your post - you say you've always HATED smoking but you tried a brand? Why on earth would you even "try" smoking if you hate it? And how would you know you liked "More" without trying it? This is a difficult discussion to respond to because I'm not sure if you really mean what you say. Smoking is a bad habit yes, I've been smoking for 23 years now and wish I had never started but I enjoy it too much to quit - although I've gone down from 20-30 a day to just 1 or 2 a day now. Think about it this way... Are you rich enough not to notice how much you spend on smoking? Over a period of time how much money will you have spent on this habit? My husband quit neaarly 5 years ago and was recently able to buy a £20,000 car with cash that he had saved. If he had still been smoking, I highly doubt he would have had that much money saved as he smoked 30-40 cigs a day for years. Now you work out how much money you will waste over the long term and think about how lovely your breath smells when you speak with people or even when you kiss your loved ones? Not very nice thoughts huh? Good luck!

Hi..
I tried smoking before and didn't like the taste, but a month ago my friend told me to try a More cig... I did just for fun but really liked it, it gave me a strange feeling that I loved...
I think you are right about the money thing and the kissing :s
I'll try my best to never smoke again, wish me luck :)
Thanks for the response...

I do indeed wish you luck. If you consider how much I've been smoking for the last 23 years and how much I might have spent you will get a shock and that might make you stop smoking right now! LOL I worked out that I have spent at least £25,000 on smoking, imagine what I could have done with that money? I'm even shocked myself now!

Hi there ....
Let us to a NON-SMOKER, ask a few questions here:
Do you fall sick from time 2 time like everybody else ?
Answer: yes
Do you inhale polluted air from car exhaust and industry that may affect ur lungs and whatever ?
Answer: yes
Are you like everybody else a Passive smoker?
Answer: yes
Do current life stresses press on you hard, that your heart, your stomach and whatever part of your body could be seriously affected if you don't deal with those stresses wisely?
Answer: yes
Do canned and fast food raise the cholestrol and sugar level in ur body?
Answer: yes
Are you like any other human being pass thru' aging process where you'd have 2 watch 2 ur daily habits more carefully?
Answer: yes
Under specific conditions, could you be valurnable like everybody else 2 contagious diseases if precautions were not taken?
Answer: yes
So here comes, the BIG QUESTION:
If all the above are factors that may play a role in shortening ur life and affecting your health, moreover, if all the above are almost unavoidable as we daily see, DO YOU NEED 2 add another factor 2 the list such as smoking?
I could hear you say NO
Thank you so much for the interesting post, DEW The 1ST

NO.. BiG NO...
I don't need to add anything, what I have is more than enough....
I will stop it now as I can still control it...
I'm afraid if I kept doing it for fun I'll end up addicted and will never be able to stop...
Thanks a lot dear for your response :)

WEll...et me start by saying stop it if you really dont want to be smoker. Because the more you continue doing it the more you will become addicted to it so better stop it now while you can still control yourself. Im telling you it will be lot harder to control it and stop once you are used to it. Just stop it...

You need to be persistent in giving up smoking if you have decided not to since you take it as always your rule that you don't want to become a smoker. It is easier to learn to smoke but rather difficult to quit smoking. Prepare something to eat when your addition to smoking arises. This way I think that you will give it up in the end. Have a try, morning dew.

Hi MorningDew! Some people usually eat candies so they wouldn't feel the urge to smoke or others have that nicotine patch that they place on their skin so to control the urges. However, I never have the will to stop smoking either. I guess what is important is that you have the will to stop and the determination to control it. Take care and have a nice day!

This is how everybody starts smoking.Once you get the taste of it you go on doing that. You have to curtail it using your willPower. Smoking is more serious than drinking one or two pegs,as it affects your heart very badly. When the urge comes you may use some chocolate or Chewing-Gum.
