Yes!The Gate of Hell is opened for 1 month according to Chinese beliefs.
It's for the ghosts in the nether world to be among the humans to feed on the offerings that the Chinese will offer or burn during the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar. This is the month that the Chinese named it as "The Hungry Ghost Month"...The gate will close again at the end of the 7th Moon.
So have you ever seen a ghost?

Nope but how cool it would be to do so! I have seen a few in my youth, but the home I live in now, its quiet and boring. There does seem to be something in the field behind my house. I haven't seen anything but there are times we can "feel" something out there, something that doesn’t like us. Don't know… sounds silly, but that's the truth. Maybe I will set some food out and watch to see what shows up. I have a camera and one of them really sensitive thermometers you see people use on a ghost hunt. It belongs to hubby and he uses it for work on machines, but I snag it sometimes to try and find a ghost here and there. LOL
Any way I have a question for you, is it the month of August every year or does it change from year to year? Also is it the whole month or is it a month according to their calendar, which I don't know if it's different?

It's normally falls between the month of August to September bcos the Chinese Lunar Calendar year normally starts in Jan or Feb. According to Chinese beliefs, the Gate is open for 1 month.

I haven't seen a ghost, but I have been feeling uneasy and very off-centered for the past couple of weeks. If there is a disruption in the universe, that could certainly explain my feelings. I have never heard of this Chinese belief - thank you for sharing it.
