how to bring traffic to a website without spending money?

Hi mylotians,
Most of you people here have good exposure to websites creation, advertising and marketing. I am yet to create a website with a subdomain. So, i thought it will be a nice idea to post some banners and earn some money. For that i shoul make many to view my site. How can i do that without spending money? Please help me....
