Add 100's of friends to myspace page..

Ok, i'm sure all of you have seen these pages, you know the people with 1000's of friends on their myspace page.
Does anyone know what they heck they are doing? I was thinking Myspace is a good tool to bring more people to the articles written here and other sites.
Does anyone do this to add to their income. If so please explain to me the detail.
I would really like to know what these people are doing!

I agree with oldbuddy. Yuwie is the way to go. I don't spend time on MySpace anymore, mainly because I don't get anything out of it. If you are curious, you can check out www.lookoutmyspace.com for more info and answers to the common questions about it :)

They do this so they have 1000's of people to send messages about their crap to. Also, in some cases, it's just people having stupid contests to see who can get the most MySpace friends. Personally, I KNOW every one of my MySpace friends, and do not add people I don't know. You can post links to sites like this to try and generate income, but most people will ignore them.
