Who eats meat? Who's a vegetarian or vegan? Why? And what is your favourite kind of meat? Are you opposed to red meat, but eat poultry and seafood? Although I'm all for animal rights/against animal cruelty, I still eat meat, as I enjoy the taste and because of all the health benefits. I enjoy 'sandwich meats' such as ham, silverside, salami etc. I also love poultry, but my favourite would have to be steak/cow meats. Lemme know what you think =D

I am a meat eater. I like pork. I know most people that do eat meat like to have a steak but not me. I don't care for beef. However if you fry a porkchop I will be the first one to get one.

I am not a carnivorous type of people. Sometimes I eat slight meat but not over. One of my favorite is chicken but I am not eat chicken with skin. I preferred to eat the meat only of the chicken.

Have you ever had flake/baby shark? Lightly crumbed and grilled flake and whiting are definitely my two favourite fish. Good to see someone so into that healthy seafood! =D

I would love to be a vegetarian - I love animals. Problem is I love their skin and flesh too. I try to think of it in that stark way to see if I can get myself to stop eating it. Remind myself that I'm eating the flesh off the bones of a creature that was once alive! The problem is I love it, chicken, fish, red meat, lamb, pork. I used to say, give it to me with the cow still saying moo! I was a vegetarian around your age. My mom thought I was crazy but still cooked two meals - though I never asked her too. Like, one meat lasagna one normal one. Now she's the vegetarian - and its akin to being a born again christian! She's constantly evangalizing on the merits of being a vegetarian and lecturing about the sin of meat. "Do you know what you're putting in your mouth?" she says often to others. "Do you know I lost over a 100 lbs by giving up meat? "I'm fully aware of the growth hormones and chemicals and such. I'm aware it stays in your system for years, just rotting away. I listened in nutrition class, in anatomy and physiology. Then I went to barbeque some steaks. All that talk of meat got me hungry. I'm also aware of the great taste, the protein - without having to combine food in a certain way as a vegetarian to get the right amino acids (so it gets absorbed more readily), higher quantities of iron, great for a borderline anemic, easily digested phospurous and other great nutrients. I love the way the traditional native americans still give thanks when they hunt and kill an animal. I try to do that, like others thank god, before eating. Once again - who is the tangent champ? That's right - me me me! Oh my favourite is lamb chops. The cheap kind tastes better. I cook it with apricot preserves and garlic. Yum. Oh darn, Malyck you evil thing, now I want lamb chops but its 10 at night!

*takes you to Tangents anonymous* =P I think you managed to stay on topic and cover all my questions perfectly,to be honest =] Certainly a change from the normal two-line response that people give to get a higher rating. I tried veganism out for a while, and it wasn't that it was hard or anything, but I just missed being able to eat meat. and honey!! I didn't know that honey was banned when I first decided to give it a go. I made a lot of soy or rice-milk based smoothies, but without honey for extra taste and goodness, it just wasn't the same! Sometimes I try to remind myself of what I'm 'really' eating, or my mother or sister (who are opposed to red meat, but not 'vegos') try to tell me, and I just laugh. I used to say something similar to you about "give it to me moo-ing" =P A tad crude, perhaps, but I like to think I'm a comedian. lol. Oh, so your mum's the born again type? Just like the reformed smokers who want to give everyone else a hard time... =[ I'm not the evil one! You're the one who wants it! =P Although that does sound delicious! I have to have garlic and herbs in my food! 10's not that late! If you've got the ingredients, make them! I'm making some meatballs for dinner tonight =D YUM.

ps: (warning: slight tangent ahead) similar to wanting meat after your seminar, after i watched "Supersize Me" for the first time, all the talk of McDonald's just made me want it! And the odd thing is, I don't even like McDonald's, and rarely eat it. =]

That's so funny. I would have to go to the hour Walmart to get some darn it. Or get my husband to go...hmmm. No, he's into his game. Have to be careful with the laid back types, too easy to take advantage! I was a caviar and champagne child - raising my hand to signify tangent alert - I loved prime rib and lobster! *Raising hand again. I miss honey - I'm nursing and can't have it!

I have nver liked a lot meat(Ate it because My mom buggs me to eat, that was long time ago) They love meat, I don't part of it is because I find it disgusting and the other because I like animals. I sometimes tell them that what would they think if they were eated? And I get this (Animals where born to be eaten, we weren't born to be eaten because we can think, talk, and thats the way things are.. My Response: Just because we don't understand when a Cow says Mooo, doesn't mean that they can talk, when a Cow is scared(and yes they can be scared) she wont walk( The cow is thinking). I wonder if things would be okay if there was some type of race that would eat humans, and think of us as animals, because of the same reasons we think a cow(Ex) is one. Animals have Feelings, too.....

This is a great point, Nathan. Animals certainly have feelings too, and i would never justify my choice to eat meat by saying that humans are just more superior. Thanks very much for contributing.

I would love to be a vegetarian and maybe to a point I am...I only eat chicken and I have ham sliced for lunchmeat. I rarely eat any beef and no pork steaks, pork chops or anything like that. My chicken is generally grilled or barbequed. !!HAPPY EASTER!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I eat meat. I also try to eat at least 1 vegetarian meal every week, because I like to and because it's good for you. I like all kinds of meat. My favorite is seafood. All kinds of seafood. After that it's buffalo, beef, poultry, pork and venison.

I like to balance it out as well, vegetables in all my main meals, and normally 2 or 3 no-meat dinners each week. Chicken's the standard meat that we eat, being on a budget, next down from that is minced meat. I made a meatball pasta tonight, it was delicious! =D

I can't stand seafood, but I love poultry and red meat. Having grown up on a farm, I understand the value of livestock for money and food. My favourite would have to be.... lamb chops! YUMMO
