All cat lovers here would agree with me that if, and when your loved pet is ill you are as worried as you would be for your own child. Even though I am with no kids of my own - my 6 cats are kind of a substitute for me and my partner, and we love these cats so very much, and care for them, the best way, we possibly can.
Well, my dear cat Chicha that you could take a look on the photo attached, is very ill since yeaterday, and we went twice to the veterinary clinic, and she got a few antibiotic shots already, but refuses to eat or to drink, and I am very worried as she is loosing weight while I am watching her, and cannot understand how it goes so quickly...And I am so worried about it. The doctor is saying that it is a very bad cat flu with pneumonia, that could go wrong if she doesn't respond well to the antibiotics. We also bought some special diet powder that we have to make a kind of soup with, and try to feed her even if against her will. But I am so afraid she will suffocate from it. She could hardly breath as her nose is filled with black stuff that i am cleaning as often as possible, but it seems to hurt her. My poor dear, and I am crying while I write here now. And am praying that somehow she will be ok soon, you see, she is 11 years of age, not so old really, and such a pretty baby she is. Please pray that she may recover - thank you so much - God Bless

My prayers go to your baby Chicha....I have two fur babies of my own--I don't have children either but see my two cats as my children. I've had kitties all my life and know what one goes through we one of them is sick.
Have you tried giving her a steambath?? That is what I used to do with mine when they got sick.

Dear Pyewacket, thank you for replying, and for your prayers, and for your kitty loving :) And no, I haven't ever tried a steam bath for any of my cats, do yours respond well to it?
Chicha is in the clinic now, she is barely alive and even though we are with no insurance,( as it will be an enormous amount for the 6) and will have to pay huge amount for it - I'd rather take a loan than see her dying, I really love her too much and pray she may recover. All your prayers are much appreciated! God Bless

I pray she recovers too...what did the vet say was wrong with her anyway??
Long time ago, had a relatively young cat, still a kitten really. One day I noticed he had that third eyelid thing...only a cat lover will know what I mean by that. My mom took him to the vet--it was some kind of respiratory thing...and the vet didn't give much hope, and actually suggested to my mom to put him down--she wouldn't hear of it. So he re-hydrated Bobbie, and gave a ton of anti-biotics..well I worked on Bobbie round the clock...giving him the medication, force feeding him as he wasn't eating--I gave him strained meat baby food, mixed with egg yolk and watered down a bit with milk and force fed that to him, plus gave him the steambaths...Well for a cat that wasn't supposed to survive and reccommeded by the vet to put down, Bobbie not only survived but lived another 15 years

Hiya Pyewacket, flu with pneumonia confirmed. We were there twice with my partner, and she still looked weird and just like an alien, and sleeping. The doctor told me that she will be better tomorrow as her fever has showd signes of getting down by the antibiotic,so we pray and wait to see her tomorrow. God Bless for the prayers, much appreciated!

Oh my thoughts are with you, my cat is my baby too, I tread him like if he was my own child, I know how it is when the cat you love is ill, I have found it very hard in the past with my previous kittys, my thoughts are with you my friend, I think someone who has so many cats and love them so much must be a lovely person...hugs to you and prayers for your kitty...

Thank you Lilaclady, for your sweet words, and the prayers, and I pray she will recover and soon. We asked family to jump in for the costs, and we got an OK for it, so she is now in the clinic. The doctor told me that she is like on a balance for 50% she'll make it and 50% she will not. At least they are feeding her intravenously and giving her air. The poor dear looks like an alien with all the tubes attached in her, and she has gotten on the 3rd day of illness so thin, it's like 50% of her weight i sgone, andf I am afraid - believe me. But I am also convinced that love and prayers might just save her. Thanks you again - God Bless

Oh my dear friend - I am so sad to read this. In fact - it made me cry. I have 6 cats and they are my babies too - so I know exactly how you feel. Can't your Vet keep Chicha in for a few days? That way she could have a drip to feed her food, nutrients and water, and also antibiotics, and she would have professional care 24/7. I know it's not nice for them to be in hospital, but if it cures them, that is all that matters. My beloved Lily was hospitalised for 3 months, and now she is back home happy, and as good as new! I really hope by the time you read this message Chicha is showing some signs of improvement - I send her all my love and support, and also to you, because I know how hard it is for you right now.

No need to apologise sweetie. I know how you feel. I think it is best that she is in hospital now - they are trained to be able to give her the total care she needs 24/7, and although it is hard for you now, in time you will see that you have done the best thing for her.
Love from all of us here, and special big hugs from my baby Lily, who has been so much of her life in hospital that she sends special love to Chicha

Hi dear Rosie, thank you my friend for your nice words and prayers, it means so much for me, that even when people don't know me personally , they still act and do as if they knew me, and inthis case, knew Chicha! She is apprecisting all the supposrt her poor body could get at the moment, I am sure of it, and she knows how much I lover her and need her to be well again, so I am sure the poor baby of mine will do her best to get better :) Teasrs and smiles are continuosly changing my expression and I look like a fool really, like a joker, half of my face crying and the other half smiling, but I am trying to stay positive, and to be of help to her instead of giving it up in my mind, which she feel feel definitely. Thanks you dear friend andf God Bless

I'm so sorry to hear about your poor sweet kitty! Please know that another prayer has been sent up in hopes she'll be feeling much better really soon. Bless her heart! Also know that you're doing the right thing by force feeding her. But because she can't breathe through her nose, do it in little drops at a time and if possible, at the back of her throat so she has to swallow it. The reason for this is because if she doesn't get anything in her system in three days, her bodily functions start to shut down. Also get as much water in her as you possibly can because it'll rehydrate her and it helps get her temperature down.

Thank you dear CatsandDogs for the sweet words, and prayers. I am glad she is hospitalized now and they feed her and everything as I was worried that I might cause her to choke, and or hurt her while trying to get the mucus out of her nose, and her lungs. Poor baby will make it, or this is what I feel and believe deep in my heart. God Bless!

For the once waiting to hear news about how Chicha is doing there at the clinic, she is a bit better, and the doctor told me that she has showed signs of getting better as the fever is less high, and she is showing vitality signs, and even though still on antibiotics she will be better soon. I will go back there tomorrow to see how Chicha is doing and report back. Thank you for all your prayers dear friends and God Bless you all!

We had to really, or she might have made the rest of the cats ill as well, this type of flu is very contageous, we were told today. Thank you for praying for her as we will need all the prayers for her - God Bless

you know a lot of people take pets and don't care about them, even abuse them. makes me wonder why so many sick people are allowed to have pets.
I love my pet and yes if my pet is sick I woul be worried especially with no money for the vet. I really really pray for your cat recovery. please do your best to stay with her as much as you can just in case she needs emergency vet help.

Hi Blackbriar, Chicha is fairing very well now, and thank you for asking :) She is feeling good and I only have to take care that she doesn't get any cat flu, or cold, as she is like myself, getting easily ill when cold ;)
