Black Snow White

Okay, I was thinking about this randomly and thought I would ask for an opinion.
Last Halloween, I was out with my friends walking around the city in costume. When we stopped to get something to eat, my best friend and I looked across the street and saw a little black girl walk by... dressed as Snow White. We turned and looked at each other, and started cracking up.
Now, do you find the total irony of this situation funny, or are we just complete jerks? There's no way she possibly noticed us, I promise! I would never tease an innocent little girl.

I don't find it funny at all. I actually think it was very rude of you to laugh. What was so funny?
All little girls, of many different races would love to be Snow White. Don't take that away from them. It's all make believe and anyone can be Snow White.
I think you acted more like a child without any respect for others that night.

Maybe it was rude, but I have no problem acting like a child. I mean, children act like children all the time ^.^

I never looked at fairy tales as aimed at separation from fantasy and beauty and all the neat things--because of race. Aren't all little girls regardless of race allowed to be part of the majickal world of fairies, dragons, dwarfs, wicked witches, spells, beautiful princes in all fabulous shades of caramel to ivory to ebony to olive whatever ! All little princesses should dream and be whatever they wish, even at Halloween.
Snow White did not have to be white to have a great time with seven little men who adored her ya know ??? hee hee, but ironically there is a bit of humor in the whole thing and since it did not cost the little girl any embarassment, than laugh away . . .
