When I was a child I used to play with my dolls and teddy bear pretending to be a doctor. Inserting some needles, imagining its a syringe or an IV. I always wanted to be a doctor, I love kids and being with them gives me joy, that's why I wanted to be a pediatrician, so I can take care of babies. But my mother had something else in her mind, she wanted me to be a Pharmacist. She told me, if I want to be a doctor I can but after being a Pharmacist. I ended up being a Pharmacist which I have no complaints or what so ever. My mother did ask me if I still want to be a doctor and I said no..the pharmacy course drained all brain's energy! LOL!!.
Was there something you always wanted to be as a child? Is it your profession now? Are you practicing it? Or you're like me, ended up having a different profession..*smiles*
Take care.
cheers!:D

I wanted to be lots of things as a kid. A farmer, a teacher, a chef. The only one I cam close to was a chef, because I did take Culinary Arts later in life but I liked cooking too much that I didn't want to make it a career because I thought i'd grow to hate it.
I just wish I knew these days what I wanted to be!

Well when I was a kid I was a science geek--LOL--and I flipped back and forth saying either I wanted to be an astronomer or an Egyptologist...well am neither, but still love the sciences...my love of the creative, artistic world won...I did also study art, music, writing, etc...I do a little of all still and you can include photography as well...

haha - ironically, at one point o fmy childhood i wanted to be a pharmacologist since my distant relative was one and my aunt said that she earned very good money for a job that was relatively unstressful. but i ended up not liking science as much as the arts so taht option was eventually a no go.
i don't think I've ever seriously wanted to be a doctor. but when i was really young i was fascinated with other space and thus wanted to be an astronaut.

i have always wanted to study "international relations" even when i was going to primary school. and it hasn't changed through my highschool years. at the university exams, i won the international relations department of the university i wanted. but just at the time i started to study it, i decided that it was not what i want to do. but it was too late and i spent my five years there as an average student. i didn't really learn anythsng because i was unwilling to learn. then when i got graduated and started to business life, i understood that i really want to study international relations. but it was too late again. so stick to your childhood plans.

I always wanted to be an author or journalist.
I'm still in school at the moment and working towards my goal.
I don't know if it will ever be a 'profession', but I will definitely get a book published.
My family are all involved in body art; tattooing, piercing etc and I have always wanted to explore that further as well.
I'm already qualified in both of these areas and whenever I have the time, I go and work for my father.
Well done in achieving your goal!

I always wanted to be a teacher. After high school I went to college for a bit, but had to quit do to having kids and being an only parent. Now I'm a substitute teacher. It's not my dream job, but it's as close as I'm going to get. I love it though.

I once thought I would enjoy being an elementary school teacher. After working in a school I realized that it wasn't for me.

I always wanted to be a daycamp leader. (Clearly, I was not an ambitious child). I thought it would be so much fun. I did get the job for a couple of summers during university, and it was fun, but not something you can do for the rest of your life, obviously.

HellO!
I like the idea of working as a campleader during summer but unfortunately we don't have activities like that in Philippines, like summer camp. The only chance I got to experience camping was during my girl scouts days..*smiles*. I'm sure you did very well when you were a daycamp leader..and most importantly you had fun. Thanks for sharing.
cheers! :D

I know when I was a kid I totally wanted to be an archaeologist. Then again that was when Indiana Jones was the top movie and just about every kid fantasized about discovering some hidden treasure or runes. My best friend and I would often go in our backyard and rope off a spot and start digging for something. Hey and we did find various things- of course nothing worth anything, but man was it fun! The good old days.

Hi fab315! Oh yes being a pharmacist is great too and somehow it is still affiliated with health field. Just like you, I have wanted to be a doctor and was always playing doctor when I was a child. But we don't have enough money to pursue such profession in the medical field because it will really cost my parents a lot and I am not the only child they have that they are sending to school. So I ended up taling engineering which is by way far to the medical profession. I graduated as a Manangement and Industrial Engineer and start up my own businesses. Take care and have a nice day!

When I was a kid and well into my teenage years I always wanted to be a neonatal nurse because I loved Babies and I still do. However once I got into college it didn't pan out that way because I decided I could not handle that type of career. It would tear me up inside everytime a baby would pass away. I am now working in retail. Not something I dreamed of when I was younger but it is something I love.

Yes, I never thought I'll do foreign business as I do today. But in my childhood, I like dance so much. But my parents told me being a dancer is just for a girl. When I got older and older, I can't dancer anymore. I agree with them and give it up. When I'm in senior school, I want to be a doctor as you did in the past. I hope one day, I could save other people's lives. That's the most meaningful things in the world. But again, my parents told me being a doctor will be so tired. I have stay through night to take care of my paitents. Then I give up my dream again. Now it doesn't mean I don't like what I do now. But memorize those lovely dream in our childhood.

LOL when me and my playmates were playing, i always play the teacher or the doctor. and then i love making paper dolls and dresses and my cousins said i had some future with it and i believed them. LOL but i didnt end up anything like those 3. when i was a high school student i did even dream of being a policewoman but didnt end up as on either. ^__^;; my profession is way too far different from my dreams. but im okay with it coz it was my choice too. ^__^

Hi fab315,
I hope you are stable today and no more tipsy...!!!
No, what is happening now is not what I wished in my childhood. Totally different. Whatever it is, I'm still not happy with my vision's achievement as I told you on your previous posted discussion about your current happiness life that you're having now.
