Could God create a rock so heavy He could not lift it?

It is an exercise of paradox. Do you believe that God who is the most powerful force would be able to create something that not even Him would be able to move, or change?

I have seen this question often. I don't believe it is an apt question because it assumes that God is affected by gravity. Weight is a function of gravity, you weigh less on the moon for instance, because there is less gravity. Gravity is a function of the physical universe, God exists outside the physical universe and is not subject to issues of physical laws like gravity.

It is a good answer. I didn't think about the gravity.

This is very interesting discussion you started here. We have no dare to think about this. God is supreme authority of the Universe. He is a greatest creator. Nothing is superior than got. Rocks have no value. I think it is a sin to compare the power of God with some thing like a rock. Every heavy thing is light in front of God and every powerful has no power in his grace. So we could not imagine that he could not lift the rock created by him. He says do and things start to take places.

I think that it could be. Just think of us humans, sometimes when we have done something, we cannot change it back to its normal state. Therefore I think that it is the same with God.
