I don't blame you for saving it. It really is beautiful. I've noticed those types of toppers now. Our wedding cake had one with blue and white flowers and wedding rings on them. They say it's made out of some type of rice paper and is edible. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have had several cakes that are unforgetable. My husband likes to bake cakes and decorate them. He made a nice three teir wedding cake for my girlfriend. We gave that to her for the wedding gift and she loved it. I had my twenty fifth birthday party at a friend of mine's bar. She decorated the place nice. My husband and girlfrinds went in earlier in the day and put together my cake. The cake was three tiers with a fontain under the second tier with purple water flowing. The flowers all over the cake were also purple which is my favorit color. Everyone of the customer at the bar wanted to know who got married. They were all surprised when they found out it was a birthday cake. My daughter should graduate high school in 2008 and I was going to have my husband make her a teired cake as well. However, I saw a cake that they had put the graduates picture on and it was great. I may have that type of cake done instead. Either way it will be a great cake.

I've thought of doing that, but then I remember that cakes are meant to be eaten. If I want to remember a cake, I will take a picture of it, and remember it that way. If I saved all the pretty toppings in my freezer, I would have filled it up years ago.

My wedding cake. Or should I say cakes? We had story cakes. Since I'm an El.Ed. and Reading teacher, we had cakes with bridges tying them together. All kinds of flavors plus diabetic. Each cake had figurines on them. Stuff we liked to do as kids, stuff we did to become professionals, dating, us together on top of the big cake and a final bridge to the diabetic cake, us together in our old age. Another one, we went to this elderly person's birthday. His discharge papers and the ship he served on where photocopied onto the cake. You can get photocopies onto icing. You hate to cut into a WWII Distroyer, you know what I'm saying?

That's funny. :-) My niece just had her birthday ten days ago and we had a custom cake made for her, with her picture on it. She did just like you with the cake. At first she told everyone not eat it so as not to ruin the picture so she could keep it, and there's still another cake that we can eat. But my sister persuaded her to let the cake be eaten. She did cut off the picture though and kept it in the fridge for about a week. :-)

Awww, that's a cute cake! It's good that you took a picture of it. But, it looks soooo good right now because I'm hungry and I love frosting (except that it makes me sick when I eat it ). I've never had any of these cakes made, but I can see myself doing it. But, of course, I would hope it would taste good, too.

That's what they make cameras for. To capture a moment/thing and make it last forever. I was a culinary arts major once and I used to make cakes and decorate them and such and we made them for the purpose of looking beautiful and then being eaten. People who make cakes really, in the end, want the people who bought them to eat them. They want them to admire them and such but still eat them and enjoy them. I, personally, thinks it's really weird when people keep pieces of their cake in their freezer. So my answer, would be No...cause if it's that beautiful I'd take a picture and hoped it tastes as good as it looks.

Oh however, if someone did make you some super fantastic cake that took them hours to make, though they do want you to eat it...you shouldn't cut into it in front of them! They don't want to see that.
