I was married to a mysogynist, who cheated constantly, physically and verbally. He also abused me verbally and a few times physically. When I finally realised that I didn't need hime to survive or that I could do it on my own, I was free, free to become myself, free to live life how I wanted to, and free to meet another man who treats me like a queen! So for all of you out there who are in desperate, dead-end, depressing and even scary relationships, get out while you are still young enough to enjoy the rest of your life! We only get one shot at it, and there are decent men/ women out there who can give us the love, support and companionship that we deserve!

That sounds great. I like you got out of my first marriage to a man that cheated I just hope one day I can and will find someone better. I'm not really looking or carring about wanting a relationship for fear of getting hurt.

Hi Shaun, I too was very scared of being incredibly hurt again, and I still have to deal with that fear on a regular basis, but what I learnt was that not all partners are the same, that you can't enjoy life until you let the past go, and that we only get one life to live so we need to learn to get over the past and trust people again! Good Luck! There are good people out there and one of them will love you for you!
