does anyone has a nokia BL-5C battery? there are some defective batteries of this type manufactured between Dec. 2005 to Nov. 2006. These batteries are likely to explode while charging. Nokia will replace those batteries with a new one. check out their website for details. /www.nokia.com

There is a huge hue and cry in India over these batteries. Nokia has asked people to enter the batteries in their site and they would notify based on the battery number whether it is defective or not. I am yet to find anyone who has found that the battery has been reported defective by the site!!
For my battery too the site says it is fine, but I am not so sure!!
Cheers!

My father's unit have that kind of battery. We've visited the site and the site assured that the battery will be replaced as soon as verification process is completed. Well its a nice gesture for Nokia to accept the responsibility for the mistakes that the company had made.
