I have one daughter and the thought of having any more kids just scares the heck out me.The way the world is today. It's scary even if with the one I have.I fear for her safety and hope that nothing ever happens to her.I've thought about having another one but I don't raise it by myself because I'm sure that's proably what would happen.

As the former parent of one child and now the parent of two, let me tell you something no one ever told me: Two is the worst possible number of children.
Only children are fine, they don't have any siblings to fight with, but be prepared, one day they will just fight with you. But that happens to all moms of teen daughters.
Three or more children is good, because they always play with each other or if one doesn't want to, the other two can keep each other amused.
But two children do nothing but fight. They each want ALL the attention, and the elder child was used to getting it before the second one came along.
This is my experience of course, and shouldn't be given the same weight as advice from anyone like Dr. Phil.

I decided to have none a long time ago.
There's nothing wrong with having only one child. I personally feel it's a bit unfair as I had a siste rand a brother growing up, so I always had someone to pick on or play with, but a single child won't have that. There is only so much time a parent can devote to a child, but with a sibling, they're never alone.
