Toyota problems

I have an 1988 Toyota pickup with 22re motor. I recently replaced motor, and drove it for about 7,000 miles and now it is acting up. It seems to run alright until it warms up. Then it acts like it is starving for fuel and jerks down the road. The really weird part is that when it starts to act up I can shut it off and start it right back up and it will run normal again for a little while. It also runs alright in neutral, but as soon as you try to shift through the gears and put a load on the motor it is powerless. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark

Dear Mark,
What is mean is not the type of motor but the kind of motor for a specific function. For example, you may replace the starter motor or etc...
When you mention, as your car warm up, the problem occur.
If you switch on heater or Air conditoning during wet weather, will the problem occur faster?
How about when you change gear especially to do overtaking of another vehicle, will the same thing occur too?
Is your pickup running on diesel?
Manual or automatic gear?
Someone mention about pe

Dear ccyapoo3, The pickup is a five speed manual transmission. I replaced the engine (22RE) the transmission, fuel pump, fuel filter, altinator, distributor, cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, oxygen sensor, catylictic convertor, clutch and battery. The truck runs alright until it warms up. I have not run the heater, and it does not have A/C. anytime you push the throttle when accelerating the engine chokes, but when it is in neutral you can throttle it as much as you want and it does not choke, only when there is a load on the engine.

Dear Mark,
Thanks for your reply.
Since you did not mention if your pickup is running on diesel, I'wll provide you my experience base in my experience. I own a KE71 Toyota station wagon. About 25 yrs old now and still running good.
I assume your pcikup is running on petrol.
1. Have your fuel tank totally clean.
2. Clean the carburetor
3. Replace the fuel filter.
This is to totally remove the rusty particles from the fuel system. No pint for you just to replace the fuel filter as after a while, the same problem will occur.
Give it a try.
If you put on A/C or Aircondition and when the car heats up, same thing happen, do let me know. I have another solution to that.

Have you checked your throttle position sensor (TPS) or the crankshaft sensor? Unfortunately, the ethanol in the gasoline these days is messing up our older vehicles. We have a 95 corolla and the same thing was happening to it too so we've changed everything you could think of except for the TPS. I don't think you have a ECU on your pickup. Have you had a chance to run a scanner on your truck? Hope this helps =)
