How would you feel if one of your beloved has to surrender one of his limbs just to survive diabetes?

One of my closest friends lost five toes to complications last year. It's devastating what that does to a person in terms of their emotional well-being, health, and future potential. Very sad. Will probably happen to me too eventually.

really sad.. you mean you are diabetic too? :( Be careful with your health ok? It's really sad you know especially when you can distinguish the difference in that loved one of your, before and after the amputation.. My father was once a very strong guy but now, he most of the time cries..

Yes, I'm a diabetic (Type I) and have been for more than twenty years. My friend was a lot more sweet-tempered and funny before this happened to him.

Just realized i am a diabetic too. But right now the complications have not yet surfaced and i dread that day when my body will not be able to cope and adjust to my glucose levels. Definitely I would feel bad if that happens to me and hopefully I could extend my current status being diabetic that is currently under control. I just need maintenance medicines and so far I am not bothered by the disease. I also am hoping the science would finally be able to find ways to combat this disease that has haunted us for so long a time.
