Did you have morning (all day) sickness when you were pregnant? Any good tips?
This is my second pregnancy and it seems a little worse, in terms of sickness, than the first. Last time I remember just getting a little nauseous during the day and eating something and then being fine. That doesn't seem to really help on this one.
Usually I get worse at night, especially after I have eaten. I try to eat small amounts and that still doesn't seem to help. I feel the worse from after dinner until the morning. I just hope this passes in a few weeks once I hit the 2nd trimester.
Any good tips or what to eat or what do to? It's hard to relax because I have a 16 month old to take care of. I can't just sit all day in bed.
thanks.

yeah I always wondered why they called it morning sickness when for me it would last all day long!
The only thing that could kind of alleviate the nauseous feeling for a short time was ginger ale
I read the ginger root in itself was very powerfull like for instance if you drink it as a tea or something - i never tried it though
Good luck though ... and when are you due ?

I have heard that about ginger too, but I'm having a hard time finding products with real ginger, versus ginger flavor. Many ginger ales do not even have real ginger. Hard to believe, huh?
I'm due the end of March.
thanks,

Go to the grocery store and get some ginger in the produce section and boil it into a tea :)

Candied ginger, either alone or steeped in my morning tea, did it for me. I was working fulltime and caring for 5-7 stepchildren at any given time, so I was pretty busy during my pregnancy. Oranges, tangerines, tangelos, lemons, limes, and grapefruits also helped during my first trimester especially. But ginger in its various forms was possibly the best thing I've ever tried. You can get it candied, in tea form, dried, raw (the root), ground or sliced over food, etc. And Tums too, bc half the time my morning sickness was caused by heartburn. And the calcium boost can't hurt. Good luck and I'm sorry, lol.
Blessed Be

I would check with your Dr before taking Tums and make sure it's safe!

I had it bad with both of my girls. With my first, i used those wrist band pressure point things and they worked pretty good. I learned though that if i ate right away, i wouldnt get sick. having an empty stomach made it worse. With my 2nd, i knew about medication and I said i was NOT going through 3 months of being sick every single day again. So my doctor gave me PHENERGAN--knocked me out cold! I had a toddler to take care of, so I couldnt do the phenergan. I got ZOFRAN then and it was awesome!!! Its very expensive though, so my insurance wouldnt cover but 10 pills. I started cutting them in half and they worked. Hope you feel better!!!

You may want to try changing what you eat. Protein snacks often help cut down the nausea. Things like nuts, meat and eggs. I know not all that wills it well when you have morning sickness, but try swapping out foods high in sugar with ones high in protein and it may curb some of the nausea. Good luck!

I"m so sorry that you are going trough that. It looks to me as you are doing all the right things so I think that it probably will be a matter of time and it will get better. I"m afraid I don't really have any personal experience in this but some of my friends did have a hard time with morning sickness and in most cases it went away after a bit.
Hope in your case it goes away fast :)

I guess I was lucky enough not to have morning sickness thruout my whole pregnancy.I did get nauseous but it wouldn't last real long.I'm not sure why I didn't but I did try and stay away from spicy stuff which I love.
