Do you miss high school? Were those the "good old days"?

It seems there are 2 types of people... those who loved high school and those who couldn't wait to get out and never want to go back.
Which were you? Or are you in the middle?
I have run into people from my old high school who say "those were the good old days". They had so much fun. They were at their prime.
I don't know about you, but I was so ready to get, and I would never, ever want to go back. Most of the people were so superficial. I never had a really good teacher.
Once I got to college I realized not every one was materialistic and you could have good teachers.

Yes I do agree with your point and outlook based on your experience but for me I had a wonderful time during my high school days. Those were the days when I met some of most cherished friends and the funs and adventures that we did as a group of close friends stand second to none.It was a diferent world then full of dreams and fun though sometimes examphobia used to grip me and shook me like anything. But that was minor compared to my gains during that time.Even I got some of the best and caring teachers in my high school and overall it was a very nice ambience.

I think part of it had to do with the environment, but I loved high school. I went to a high school right outside the gates of an air force base, so the diversity of people I went to school with in itself was so amazing. My three best friends in high school were from Texas, California, and Michigan respectively. It was so crazy knowing that they were all in the same place, too.
I had so much fun in high school. I had good teachers that were like mentors; I had terrible teachers that I would just make miserable because I was the troublemaker in the class that got straight A's. I played football, hung out, it was a blast.
There were definitely a lot of superficial and vain people in high school, but I think that came with the age and the adjustments to adulthood we were all facing at the time. I think that there is the same things going on in college; maybe not as rampant, but it's there. College, to me, was a blast, too, but it was like high school with living quarters. I found a lot of the same cliques, the same people hanging out with each other, and the same social divides. I never let it really bother me, I just enjoyed my surroundings and made life fun.

I'm the one's who loved high school, that I realized I've also missed some of the happy moments during that time. But I already had my good days there, I cherished every moment that me and the class work as one. The teachers and other faculty members who commended our works, who honed our talents and skills. They say that, "high school is the best part of living as a student" and that's how I saw it. College is the more serious level in schooling, more on studies and less on happenings.
I believe high school is the introductory stage for us, to make ready and focus on our studies when we reach the higher level.

I only graduated from high school a few years ago, so I don't know if those were my best years.
There were ups and downs, but overall, I guess it was OK. The only thing I miss about high school is hanging out with my friends. Since we graduated, most of us have split up and rarely talk

I couldn't wait to get out of their!
but I do miss the friends.
things have changed a lot since then.
I now have children and have been through so much since then.
life was so care free.
I can't believe how bad I thought things were then, now I see they were a piece of cake!
I don't know if I wish I could go back and do the school thing over, but I do miss the friends and the freedom and the stress free life.

Personally for me I don't miss it one bit. I find that the ones that miss it the most were the ones that were the rulers of the high school. Either the most popular, or totally in control of everything. So it's only natural that they would miss that. I mean once they got out of school they soon found that all there power was nothing, and they were back to being at the middle of the pack.

I loved high school even though everyone was suberficial. I particpated in so many activities that I had a blast even if I later realized that most of the people I thought were my friends weren't. I try to remember the experience. Now college, I couldn't wait to get out and actually finished a year early. My collge was very small and only girls and there was more superficial people there then in my high school.
