Whew! My sister has survived a nightmare birth experience. I'm an aunt.

I've been awake all night trying to distract myself, while waiting for news, and I'm so relieved. It looks like she's going to be OK despite losing a huge amount of blood, and the baby is doing well. What a scary time. Every member of the family is a wreck this morning, but we're so excited.

My prayers are with you--but seeing as it looks like the worst is over--allow me to give me you my congratulations!

I'm sorry to hear that she had a tough birth but really pleased for you all and your new arrival!
My wife had a 41 hour labour and also lost around a litre of blood. I'm glad to say that it becomes 'no biggie' after a month or two - when people stop asking about it.
Be sure to stay on hand (I'm sure you are) to help with domestic chores etc when they get home. The new parent will really appreciate it. Also tell them not to be shy and to tell you (and everyone) to go home when they want some alone time. All the visiting can be a bit much when they want to have some quiet time together.
Congrats again.

Congratulations Aunt Tanya! I'm so glad that everything worked out ok and everyone is doing fine now. I imagine everyone is feeling a bit drained but relieved. Now you'll all have a story to tell the little one when they're older.
Congrats again to the whole family. :D
