I do not.
He is talented, but far from the best.
Steve Felton of Mushroomhead is just as good.
Jurgen Reins of Kreator is amazing.
Paul Bostaph (Slayer, Exodus) is a supremely talented veteran.
Dave Lombardo DESTROYS Lars.
Janne Sarenpaas of The Crown - this guy is just astounding to hear.
Outside of metal, Neil Peart of Rush is arguably the best percussionist alive today.
Lars is good, but there are plenty of drummers as good or better. They're just not as "popular"

Or if I absolutely must cite one of the big three bands around here...
Nick Menza (formerly of Megadeth) is another very talented drummer.
And Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden is half of one of the greatest rhythm sections in metal history.
And that's without even using a double-bass pedal.

I very much do agree. Lars Ulrich is if not the best, the coolest drummer there has ever been. Metallica is my all time favorite band and i can't stop listening to them. When I have finished one album i go for the next, and next, and next...
He writes very good songs to, he writes the music to almost every Metallica song so I guess it's pretty obvious.
I went to their consert in stockholm this july and it was the most incredible experience i have ever had.

Yeah he is a top drummer lol. the best of any heavy metal or rock band ever. He looks like he has an absolute ball when hes on the drums.
