when you know somebody gonna visit your house? Sometimes I do that if i know somebody gonna visit my house. It's just habit that actually my mom does, to make the house more presentable. In her book it's a shame if the house look like a mess, when a guest visit the house. So now I carry the same habit, LOL...Do you do the same thing?

Yes for those I know are coming. Now friends that just drop in, hey it's their fault if they have to see my mess, LOL. I wonder why it bothers me if I know they are coming and freak out and start cleaning, but if they drop in I don't mind if they see my dust? Strange....

hahaha... I know what you mean, friends, or especially when I know my mother in law will come over. I will freak out so much and start cleaning the house like crazy. But if they just suddenly drop off in front of my door, my mind just work so quick to get excuse for the all the mess in my house. Usually i blame the children!

I try to keep my house super clean, but with 4 dogs and a 5 year old little boy, that is harder than it sounds. I do exta cleaning if I know my mother is coming over. I have serious acceptance issues where my mother is concerned and even if the house is clean enough to eat off the floor, my mother will find the one thing I missed and make a comment about how messy I keep my house.
I do try to make it extra clean if I am having people over for dinner or a party. Other than that, just usual cleaning. I figure, my house is cleaner than some people I know and messier than others. I am happy and my family is happy and that is all that matters.

Yes, if people are coming over I do an extra cleaning. We are kind of messy people, and tend to leave things lying around, which I guess is why we're always losing things, LOL. So we need to tidy up a bit before people come over.
It's not a huge deal - our place is not a disaster area, but it's nicer if the place is tidy.

To be honest, I just try to make it "passable"! I have a young child and both my husband and I have health problems, so often things don't get done or taken care of when they should. So I don't think my house could ever be "extra clean" with the situation we have. But I do try to make it passable, and make sure there's nothing too gross or personal laying around.

actually it's pretty challenging for me to make it extra clean, but yes my 2 children just like little tornado. Sometimes i feel like a radio that keep saying same thing over and over again "pick it up, please."..LOL...but i like that idea of passable.

I think it is human nature to have your home as clean as possible when company is coming. I like my home in prestine shape with I have guests over. Now for the everyday stuff I do not keep it that prestine. I have to clean my bathroom right now. I can tell when I do not feel well my house is not as clean as it should be.
My mom is a big and always has been. She throughs stuff on the floor and expects everyone to pick up after her. She does not clean her self up let alone after her self. She is so gross I cannot stand to be around her at the nursing home. She refuses to get out of bed so they can deep clean the room. She refuses to let them bath her except once a week, and she is incontenient. YUCK she stinks. Oh well she is no longer my problem.

Yes, I tend to that too, it's a habit to keep the house extra clean when someone comes to visit.

When I know that I am going to have company I do really deep cleaning. I clean and pick up daily around my apt. ya never know when someone might drop by and I hate a messy place. My mother was the same way when she was alive and I just followed her footsteps.... Nothing wrong with having a clean and tidy place....
