Do you go back to discussions you've responded to...

....to see if someone responded to your response? I have to admit that I don't always go back, mainly because I get disappointed when there is no response. This is supposed to be a "discussion" forum, but how can you have a discussion when you're literally talking to yourself? Just wondering. What do you think?

I do go back to check, it might take a while, but i do! Even to put a simple thank you, how hard is that? The money isn't the reason i'm here though, but to some it's very important and the more posts and responses, the more they make! Some are kept very busy, so their time is important also! Take care LCecelia.

Thank you. :-) But seriously though, I know what you mean. I can honestly say that I'm not here for the money. Although I may just be able to cash out for the first time this month!!! :-)

Yes, I usually do and sometimes add something if there has been a reply to my response. Somethimes several hours will have gone by and I won't know that the discussion poster has replied. So every so often, day or two, I check on the discussions I have responded to. Sometimes I am disappointed if whoever posted the discussion hasn't replied to my response, especially if they had asked for advice or help or posted some other kind of question.

I sometimes get disappointed too if the person had asked for advise. And for those who tell you to PM them and then they never respond.

That's the other thing too. I usually only get on during the week...I have time in between calls at the hospital. I very rarely get on over the weekend.

I haven't run across many who said to PM them, so I can't comment on that. But I do like it when people check and answer when people respond. I try to do it but sometimes because it can be long stretches between me being on the site, I miss some.

I get an email when I get a response. If it was something that is more like a discussion, then I'll be interested in what they said, but if it was just a sort of a list thing, then I am not necessarily going to respond to the response to my response.

You do have to have a system that works for you otherwise you'll be on way over the time you've allotted.

Yes I do go back and see if the person who originated a particular post, has replied to my response. Sometimes there are replies, sometimes only a ‘thank you’ and sometimes the best…’best response’. I always try to reply back when there is something that can be written, but where the response ends with a ‘thank you’ I cant reply back (you cant have a ping-pong of thank yous). I get elated when I get a best response and of course I feel sad when there is not reply, but then I don’t think all responses of mine merit response.

Thank you. Just kidding! :-) The replies of "thank yous" could go on and on. I don't know that I've ever had best response to any post. I guess I've never paid attention.

HI LCecelia! :) It's a good thing that I am being notified through my email if my comments was being replied to. :) And usually, I just read on my email if what was the response. If it is a question and need my answer, I go back to that discussion and share my thoughts. :) And if I have to ponder more about the comments that I made to the discussion, I go back to it and send another response. :) take care and God bless! \(",)_

I go back from time to time and check on the discussions I submitted, to rate any comments given and to chose best response. However I have several that have never gotten a response and that is rather sad. I feel that mylot needs to address the unresloved discussions and at least put some of them up to the top again somehow to get a comment and rating. Some of the other sites do this and there is no reason Mylot couldn't do it too. It would give the submitter comments but the ones commenting more earnings which makes sense. That is why they do however have the discussions with no response in hopes that some will go there and give a response and eventually move them into another category. This was a very good question.

That's one thing I haven't been doing...choosing the best response to my discussions. As for the unresolved discussions, if you've had at least one response you can reply to that. That will bring it to the top again. Its worth a try.

Questions & Responding - myLot
I like to respond back to someone who has responded back to me, it just seems like common courtesy just to respond back, just so they know you are listening and paying attention. My favorite t hing is too post pictures that are in connection with what I responded too!! Ha ha

Once I didn't get a response to a question for 5 months and after that they started going, once you hit 500 & 10 rating I think people respect you more. Thinking you really have something to say. Keep up the good work.

I always try to go back and check my discussions that I have started and see what has been said. I also try at times to go back to the discussions that I have responded to and see if someone has made a comment on what I had to say about it.

Sometimes I go back to see.If someone add comment to my response,I will receive an email in my inbox so if the comment is interesting enough,I will go back to see it.But to be honest, until now, just minority users have added comments to my responses.

I received e-mails notification if soeone commneted on a response I wrote, when I think it os necessary to comment back I do but if not I just leave it,as everyone says here..we cannot do much if we will comment to every response we get or to every comment from every response we made. happy posting!

That is quite true. For instance if you started 10 topics the day before and you get many responses to each, you'll be spending many hours...maybe, responding to all of them.

Unless I get the email notice saying someone responded then I don't go back onless I want to see how the discussion continues on. Sometimes I am just curious to see what others have to say no matter if what. It doesn't have to be a response to me although it is great when people make comment to something I have responed to as well.

I have done this too and been disappointed. What I do is continue creating dicussions and keep responding to discussions others have started. I think eventually the law of averages will catch up with us and we will have responses. sunny waters

I've been bad about this too, but mostly because I'm new and didn't realize I got mail when someone responded to a post I'd submitted. Yesterday, I checked my E-mail and saw like 15 mails saying someone responded to something I wrote and was like...DOH! Other than the mails I wouldn't go back to check posts really, there's just too many of them to keep track of.
