I thought I had already asked this, but I guess it was in a different forum... My husband is always answering my questions with the "wrong" answer.
Here's an example... Over the weekend, we were camping out at a family reunion... As we were packing up our tent in the rain (hurriedly of course) I asked my husbnad if he had the car keys. He said (and I QUOTE) "I'ts unlocked." Not, Yes I have them, or No I don't have them. Well, I knew it was unlocked, but I still didn't know where the keys were, so my reply was "I know that, but I still need to know where the keys are so I can drive it. Do you have the keys?" Once he said "No" I knew I then had to hunt around in all the stuff that was packed up to find the keys before we loaded it all into the car.
He does this all the time. I ask a question and he answers what he thinks is relevant, NOT the answer to my question. Do you have people that do this to you all the time or am I the only one lucky enough to have this happen to me???

My wife does it all the time and even locked herself out of the car and the house so many times just because she doesn't answer correctly, and when she does that I assume she has the keys. This is an attitude that shows the person with a false kind of superiority complex.

And did you check your spelling of HUSBAND in your post title?

Yes, and she still does it, we've been married and together for 32 years.

Aw man!! I wish myLot had spell-check!!! I try to be careful about it and I recheck it, but the dyslexia comes back to me sometimes.
That's pretty wild that your wife does this, I guess it's not a gender-specific thing :)

it's a really good point reinydawn. it happens to me a lot too. i mean, i don't want to say anything rude about your husband, but some people just thinks that they are smarter than you so they always keep moving one step further. i mean when you ask them something, they think by themselves and they tell you what to do instead of giving an answer. but all we need is the answer not someone who shows us the next step.

Oh I have to tell him all the time to just answer my question, not the question he THINKS I want an answer to. I have even tried to answer his questions with the wrong answer but I just end up giving him the answer he wants.

You don't think your husband is one of those guys that leads a secret life do ya? Cause that sure sounds like my husband, :oD
Hubby is a great listener and I so love him for that, but his focus needs improvements thus where his wrong answers come from. I could say, "I love diet coke" and his reply would be, "well I'm not going to the store right now.". WTH? Are all men like this? They hear us, yet they are not quite getting what we just said.

OH MY GOSH!!! They must be twins!!! My husband would have said the same thing. Or he would have just gotten up and gotten me one, even though I didn't say I wanted it. Then he'd be upset that I didn't want it RIGHT NOW. Too much fun, eh????

Totally with you here. You need to sit down with him, calmly, and point this out to hima dn how it frustrates you. Also, if there is something that drives me mad in my partner, I often have to look at myslef to see where the anger is coming form. Do I do the same thing in a different form that may bedriving him nuts.

Oh yeah, we've talked about it a lot. Sometimes I think he does it now just because I don't like it (not to be mean, but to be funny). His father does the same thing, I've seen it happen! He did it to my husband once and he looked at his dad and said "OK, now answer the question I asked you." I had to laugh at that one!
