Let say you by a ticket for lottery. Let say you did win a big million. What would you do. Many people say they would quit there jobs, by a big hous, move to better streets or communitys. It seems that people not are contemt with thier lifes in generally. I for one thing would not quit my job, it is a meningful thing to have. Money do not make you happier, but it do make your life easier. I for one thing would pay of my debts, loans and that sort of thing in order to spend my salary in better ways. I would also try to travel to some countries that I´s like to go...Icland for an example. Did you know that it is very expensive to travel there. I would also put some away for older days. You do not get a large pension. And older care are expensive.
Shy would people change thier life becouse of a winning ticket?

hi anetteh.. ^^
what an interesting topic, hmm
this sounds very stupid, but the first thing i'm going to do is spend the money on a botega venetta man shoulder bag LOL
this brand is extremely high priced, i saw the bag once on a mall i visited
then, i'll buy a louis vuitton man tote bag
when i read the title of your discussion, both things are the first ones that came into my mind, wkwk LOL
if i think about it for some more time, i might give half of the money i received to my parents.. hehe
it's really a great chance to repay them, which i'm sure the amount will never be equal to what they've spent
hmm, maybe i'll buy an apartment for myself.. hoho
i'm sure the amount is still enough
thanks for posting this topic anetteh
it's really fun.. cheers ^^

Well, from al the responding I have got , I belive it was a hot one to...*smile*. I belive winning on lottery are the desteny helping you on your way in life. Therefore I think you should use it wisely. Today one million is not much after paying the taxes on it to. I for one thing would pay of debts, than save some, than by new stuff for the home. Things brake and need to be replaced. You can also use the salarey from you main job. That would make it easier for me anyway. Thanks for responding.

I wouldn't change my life too much. I'd still work, because I like what I do, and I'd still live in the same area.
I'd probably buy myself a house, buy my sister an apartment, and pay off my sister in law's mortgage. After that, I'd just leave the remaining bit of money (with housing prices around here, there are a lot of houses that a million dollars wouldn't buy) for an emergency fund.

No, one million is not much these days. For me it would not be much over after spending some of it on pay debts. This is a topic that would have been some thing for study I think. I got lots of responding. And I notice some changing in peoples minds about what to do with money won on lottery. Mostely say they should pay of. Still some say they would stop work, by stuff I do not think you should do that. I think it´s better to use the desteny of winning to a better purpose.

I would buy a house( nothing too big and fancy, where I live it's hard to find a 3 bedroom for less the 280,000.) I would then pay off my minivan and my mom's SUV as she spent a lot on me throughout my life! I am not sure what else I would do, I know I would invest some and have fun in life with some, but I am a very simple person I would not go crazy spending it!

I belive that what you do with money won on a lottery is depending on who you are as a person. How you think about money and how to spend them. I think IF you win money on lottery thats a desteny helping you on your way. I think You should use it wisely. Thanks for responding.

thank GOD above. Relax and REALIZE the money is from winning the lottery and this could only happen once in a lifetime, if it ever happen. Now that it happened, it may not happen again. So get hold of that money really tight. What change your life? why not. Half of your money you save in an established bank. Do not touch that part unless really necessary. Think of good investment. Business. After paying all your debts, buy a comfortable house, charity... etc.... let the income from your investment pay for your living. Do not live beyond your means. Live comfortably NOT extravagantly.

Thank for resonding, I have the same thougt as you. I think, since it was a luck that made it happend, or the desteny. You have a chose to do what ever, however, since the desteny (or GOd) hade something to do with it, you should use the money wisely. So pay of, save, wokr, but work less and hav fun.

How big is the lottery we are talking about here? If I got, say 10 million, I would pay for the rest of my college, buy a nice house, make sure all of my families houses are paid off and then donate some of my winnings to a charity. I'm a big fan of animals and would probably donate to the Humane Society in my local city.

If either my fiance or I win the lottery, we are going to invest a chunk of miney, share a chunk of the money with our friends and family, and spend the rest of it on the things that we really really want, but could never afford.

If I win like you I will not stop from my work. I will still work but I will still have my own business. I will invest my money, some of the money will go to my family's needs like house and lot, car and clothes. I will help maybe charities or donate some percentage. I will also donate for my church.

Uhmmmm. Interesting question! Since I have been thinking about it or just imagining it for quite some time.. Really! Since a few months ago, I can't remember what the channel was but a short film about it was shown. It was about success stories of people.. And there was particular people who became successful because of winning the lottery.
The man won millions of dollars.I'll tell a short story about his life after winning the lottery. He became so famous in his town. He and his wife were just a poor couple, but it all changed when they won the lottery. Their friends always ask him for money for whatever reasons. They spend most of their money in luxurious cruises and traveling to places that they never dreamed of. They just spend and spend and spend.. But you know what happened? They lost it all. All their friends abandoned them. They used their remaining money to buy another house at some place far away from the place where they both grow up and lived. They transferred maybe because of shame or whatever reasons.
From their story, i have realized that if I were given a chance like to win a lottery.. I would probably take things slow. Yeah, the right thing to do is to continue how you live your life.. the simple life. keep your job and continue earning with your salary.. If not, then you can always plan ways to invest your money safely. And I don't even like to tell my friends that I won the lottery or even relatives. It is better that I just lay-low but still help them in their financial problems.. I would also take on a cruise which i always dream of.. Also, If someone asks where I get the money? I'll just tell them that I saved it.. I don't want to wait for the time when I lost my money from overspending and even lose my friends in the process. :)

I would put 2/3 of it in the bank and generates a good amount of interest, so that I could live on that and I will have enough money when I get old. Then for the 1/3, I would use on traveling to different places and see the world with my eyes. This is something I have always wanted to do and not being able to do because of the tight budget I am living in. I think I deserve doing the stuff I want to do if I win the lottery ticket.

Of course, you should spend some of it at your self. You think like me, I like that. There are so many people saying - if I won....I would.......just have fun....but as I think, you should pay of first, and after that spend, enjoy and have your salary for savings, trustfounds, etc. Thank for responding.

I would not let my husband quit his job cause money does not last forever. What we would do is pay off all of our debts, purchase a house so we dont have to rent any more. Purchase safer cars. I would also be able to purchase enough yarn to be able to make and sell more of my blankets and work part time from home.

I personally would not quit my job- I would continue working with a better attitude most likely because I know that now I am doing it because I want to- not just necessarily because I need to. I would obviously clean up my credit to start off with then I would definetly travel- probably buy myself a nice size yaht and sail the country. I would give money to different charities and invest some in entreprenuers of the future. I would purchase a few houses in different areas I knew I liked to visit just to have there- maybe a house on a farm somewhere and a beach house somewhere else. Maybe own a small villa in puerto rico. There is so much I would love to do if I won the lottery- I would buy my mother her dream house and a maid to go along with it (wink). I would pay my little sisters college tuition- and give generouslly to her college of choice hopeing that will help her in (wink again) (just kidding on that one).
