I recently got a dpg, small puppy and now i´ve noticed, he has become m best friend..I feel very tenderly towards him and love him very much. I feel more affectioned to him than many of my friends..He always gets my full attention and i think he is the only one who gets it; including my boyfriend..is there anyone else with these similar feelings?

I have a toy poodle and a cockatiel. Both are a good companion to me and they bring me joy, but as much as I love them they will never take the place of having my true friends. Dogs are good at being something that humans have a hard time with and that is being unconditional. They show affection and loyalty even if you don't deserve it.

I love my dog, she is my best friend, lol. she never judges me or is too tired to listen or share an ice cream sandwich. She and I have been through some sad times and happy times. I love her and she loves me without conditions.

I think a pet can be your 'best' friend and confidante, someone you can always rely on, but I think it's important not to forget about the other *people* in your life, as they are important too, and have been through many different things with and for you.

I have 3 dogs, a schnauzer male and 2 grrlee rat terriers, and I absolutely LOVE them! They comfort me, make me laugh, keep me going... the thing to be careful about is making sure the dog can relate to the other people in your life! I fell short in the socializing department with 2 of my dogs... kept them to myself and away from people... now they bark and almost become aggressive when people come over... it frightens the people, and if one of the dogs DID bite, it would be terrible!
With the new puppy I have, I am working more with teaching her to be friends with our guests, and its beginning to change the other dogs as well! But its hard work to retrain a badly trained dog... its best to do it the right way from the beginning! You can still love each other, but the dog needs to be disciplined in its behavior for its own safety.

I find that the thing with pets is that they are so reliant on us for everything, and they, especially dogs, show it in the form of unconditional love and loyalty! I think that a lot of pets have all the characteristics that we would like to see in our friends!

Most dogs are great to have around because they are loyal no matter what happens. I'd love to have a dog but i have come to realise over the years that having a dog is a huge responsibility, it's like having a baby! Since i had my daughter i haven't paid as much attention to my cat, which i feel rather guilty about. One day i want to get a puppy for my daughter to have but i need the time and i need to a guarantee that i will be staying in the 1 house for many years. It sux renting.
