I learned when I was a child that you could stop hiccups by holding your breath for a while or drinking water. Do you have a method?

Here's a method I just shared with someone else: Squeeze your earlobe as hard as you can, but remember to take out any earrings first. Then hold your other arms up in the air. Squeeze until they go away and remember to squeeze hard.

Swallow 1 tsp. white table sugar, dry. A study found that this stopped hiccups immediately in 19 out of 20 people. Repeat up to 3 more times at 2-minute intervals if necessary.

Besides what you have mentioned above that I use, I have also another way that my mother taught me. That is to press the pulse for a little while. It won't be long before you come back to normal state without one more hiccup.

You are right hold your breath and drink water. 1. You take a deep breath in, hold it until you get a first hiccup, you breath out, and take another, hold it until you get another hiccup. Do it 9 times. Your hiccup will go away. 2. Drink water. Don't take one sip. Take 9 sips, each sip just a bit water. Do it 9 times, your hiccup will go away. I hope it will help you, it works for me (both way). you can find some health tips at my blog: http://everydaytipscollection.blogspot.com/
