What is your opinion on hand gun ownership? Do you own a hand gun? If you do, did you have to "jump through many hoops" to get the registration? I want a hand gun for the the protection of myself, my home and my family. I live in the country and my husband often works until midnight or later, leaving me home alone (well I have my animals but still) for amny hours in the night. My husband owns a rifle and said he will take me for my FAC but I am a small person and do not want to destroy my shoulder trying to fire a big rifle, and I think that accuracy would be an issue with a weapon to large for my frame. I want to own a .22 hand gun like the one in the picture below. What do you think about this? Do you support gun ownership or would you judge someone badly if you knew they owned fire arms?

With the world the way it is today.Judgeing someone who has one isn't the big issue. It's how to keep it out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.

I am personally not against owning arms at home for safety reasons. But the implications of owning arms at home are many. You have to hide it from children and youngsters, not to mention the thieve:-) You can think about other means of securing yourself.
