I have some outstanding parking tickets, I really don't think it is fair, because I got those tickets 4 times in one day! so that is why my parking tickets are so high, I just got a letter in the mail, they want to block me from getting my liscense plates untill I pay the tickets, the tickets cone to $300.00 or more, I can't afford to pay that, and I am working part-time, the City is Hungry for money, and another thing if you don't pay them right away they add intrest. I wish I could fight this but I can't, have you ever been in this situation? I can't even do Community Service to work it off!

I have never been in a situation like that. If I get a ticket I pay it and don't cry unfair. The faster it gets paid the less it will cost in the long run. How can you say it's unfair because you got 4 in a day? Were they at different places or 4 tickets for the same thing at the same place?

So you got 4 tickets for being parked in the same spot all day? Was it a no parking place or a place with a meter?

I do not drive, but my husband does. He does not have any packing tickets, but my sons got a couple. Our city wants money like yours, so badly that they set up cameras at the traffic spots to rake in the money from the speeders. We also said it was a cash cow and what do we expect? Our city is turning more to user fees to get money and many of the people here do not make that much. You should pay off the parking tickets, or they will probably charge you interest.

We have a System set up like that the camera thing. they will take your picture, and send you the ticket in the mail. I really can't afford to pay the ticket.

There is such a system in India particularly in Bangalore but since our cost of living is low compared to US, the ticket amount (we call it fines) is quite low. Something like $2 to $5. The authorities tow the vehicles to a open place, after paying the dues, the vehicle is released. But most of the time, people park in right places, in public places it is free and in malls, big banks, it is on payment basis.

I have no tickets. Parking or otherwise. I have no idea what you could do to take care of the situation other then pay them off, I have heard of lawyers that will fight them, but my guess is the lawyers will cost more then the tickets. $300 is a lot for tickets, I have to agree. Sorry, wish I could help.

I did have two unpaid parking tickets but since my address on my license is still my mothers address everything gets mailed there- so she recieved the tickets and because she hates owing - even if it was her daughers debt (mine)- she paid them for me. Where I live you don't usually have to worry about that sort of thing.

I have gotten the occasional parking ticket in my life, as has my husband, but they are usually only $25 unless you parked in front of a fire hydrant, in which case I think they are higher. Sometimes they are only $15 if you pay within the month, or $25 if you take longer.

I have one parking ticket and I refuse to pay it. It's in another state so it's not like they'd do much to me - it was also about 15 years ago!!! I parked at a meter and put money in it. When I came back out I had a ticket and the meter had not yet expired. Well, at the end of the street there was a sign that said "No Parking" with the hours noted - the time I was there of course. I'm not paying it, why do they have a parking meter in a no parking zone????

I do not have parking tickets, but I have been towed. That made me so mad because the signs posted where I had parked were really small and they only towed from 3:00 a.m.-5:00 a.m. What is the deal with that?

It appears you don't have any choice if you want to have your driver's license renewed. Four tickets in one day is a bummer. I read in our local newspaper that a teenager got two Minor in Possession tickets within 1/2 hour. He should have gone home after the first one!
