Do you pick up change you find on the street?

Any money I find on the ground is fair game except if I'm at work, I've seen people get fired for pocketing a penny (no joke) I generally don't pick up pennies unless it's head-side up though. I'm not superstitious by nature I just have the one...tail-side pennies are concentrated evil!

Cents here in the Philippines costs nothing only if there are like hundreds of them. So even if i see one i wouldn't pick it. What's the use? I can't walk all around the city just to find hundred cents to buy one candy.

you bet i do...in fact i even look at the ground when i am walking to see if i can scoop change off the ground. i have found dime and nickels and i even once found a twoonie (which is a two dollar coin here in canada) but mostly i find pennies...

Well that all depends if its a quarter a dime then I would I usally wouldnt do it just for a nickel or penny. But im saving up my coins so one day I can cash it in for a lot of money which I think I must have at least $100 by now in coins. So when ever I get change back from a drink or food then I will save it and put it in my coin collecter box lol.

i pick up pennies no matter what. i have a jar thats almost full of these "abandoned" pennies. dang it people! pennies needs love too.

good question..yes even i do the same if i find any coin or a note(in our country) but the condition is only if nobody else is around or watching me..lol..i don't think its bad to pick the money you find..after all its money and not a thing to be overlooked or ignored..i have not been very lucky in this case i must say because since my childhood i have not found any money on ground..may be i don't walk carefully and i may have passed over it several times..LoL or may be the people are getting more smart around..first to see .. first to get..LoL..when i was a kid and was in school i used to find a lot of them while playing in the ground but was so honest(stupid actually LoL) that i used to return them to our security guard of the main gate of my school thinking that he may ask any kid who walks through that gate about the missing money and give it to its owner..but now i think it would have been his extra income..LoL..Well lets get serious a bit..i think if i find money these days on road anytime i'll pick it up but i found someone needy by my site i'll probably give it to him and if no one is around then i'll give it in some temple..as i get a bit superstitious sometimes about such incidences that why to keep some body else's lost property..God is watching..be careful..but it usually happens if the amount of money is small..lol..i can just imagine that if i find some big lot of money then i'll probably spend it the same but will never bring it home..reason being the same superstitions just to prevent any harm if it can happen..i have never dreamed of money till now..and i don't know why..may be there are other things in my life which keep popping in my subconscious mind..well good luck to you that find lots of dollars next time..but not on the ground but here:-)

Somebody's money cannot be mine. Even a bundle of notes lying there, I rather prefer to inform police than taking any action on my own.

sometimes i do, sometimes i dont. it depends where i see the change. like if i find one on the streets with many people, i probably wont pick it up to avoid being bumped or avoid collision with other rushing people. but if there's lesser people, i think i would pick it up. there's a saying here that you need a 25cents to make up a peso so we couldnt just ignore 25cents lying everywhere. ^__^

I check the ground also. I figure if I find enough pennies, they will make a dollar. I don't care what side is up or down either. I figure if it is there, it is a gift from God.

That's what I get my kids to do. I have found toonies ($2 dollar coins) and quarters. But my son finds so many pennies. My husband found ten bucks once!

I always see 20 cents and 50 cents coins lying on the ground. I've also seen a 10 dollar note lying on the ground too. However, I never pick them up too as it is my principle not to use money that is not earned by me. Today, when i was in a public toilet. A 20cent coin actually roll into my cubicle. Haha.. I took it out and left it at the basin. Some of my friends have quite interesting beliefs. They believe in buying sweets with the money they picked up on the streets.

I usually pick up any spare money I find on the sidewalk or wherever. When I was in junior high on my way to school one day I found a ten dollar bill. Ever since then I have always been on the lookout, because you never know.

I will pick up the money and just spend it of cause i don't want to keep the money for myself, but its quite ok to spend it away and get something in return.

For Chinese, if you find or happen to see money on the ground and you don't pick it up, you'll be poor for the rest of your life. So, I always picked up money I see lying on the ground, whether it's mine or not...

I mostly find pennies and dimes, rarely nickels or quarters. I pick them up whenever I find them unless, of course, I'm in someone's house ;).

Heck yeah! My 5 year old is better and finding it than I am... Not a big deal really I just get it out of her pockets when I do the laundry.
