while trying to make payment with e-gold, I received this message "It appears that you are using an open proxy". Anyone ever had a similar problem and how can it be solved?
Thanks.

Same problem with me,
The service which I use has static IP,
all of users in the lan have same IP and It was blocked about 3 Months ago,
Its very difficult to find a high anonymity proxy every time.

Yes, it is very strange.
I sent an email to the egold admin and they said "You cannot access your account from an open proxy. You will need to use a computer with a secured ip".
But, like in my country, the ip is given by the service provider and we have no control of the ip given. At least, I can just turn the modem on an off. It would appear more difficult for you.

well its because, the ip through which you are trying to access e-gold is int he blacklist, what you need to do is, just reset your modem ie.. re-connect the internet and get a new IP if you are having a dynamic IP address, and try login into e-gold untill you get a IP which is NOT in the blacklist
otherwise if you are having a static ip then you need to get it removed from the blacklist or alternatively you can try these proxy to login to you e-gold account

Or

hope this helps you.

Thanks for your info.
It is strange for them to blacklist the ip. My country's internet provider uses a dynamic ip allocation and so we are given different ips each time - the black listed ip is not because of anything that we have done.
You are right. A few days ago, I tried switching the modem on and off and it did work.

It seems that the problem can be handled by just switching the modem on and off so that the service provider would give me another ip.
