Forgetting

I really love these books, but I seem to forget almost everything that happens in them after a few months! And after a few years, forget it! I'm currently re-reading them. I'm almost done with Interview with the Vampire. My favorite one is Tale of the Body Thief. It'll take me a while to work back up to that one. Does anyone else have the problem of forgetting the storyline after a while?
