I have been with the same woman now for about 8 years and married for 4. Sure we have our ups and downs but overall we are very happy. Love can and does happen. I think to give up on love is to give up an the best part of life... The part that makes it worth living. There can be much joy and happiness in the quest for it -- as well as sadness and pain. But if we never know pain how could we distinguish it from joy. Just don't give up, but don't force it either.

Try to get over it. In His time God will provide you with the perfect man. Until then, he's only showing you how bad men can be so that you'll appreciate your perfect man even more. If you rush into relationships, you're going to have many disappointments.

I hear you. I'm in the middle of a divorce and have been in a "new" relationship for a while, but it's been nothing but let down and heartache, and frankly, I can't deal with it anymore. I've had very few relationships as it is, and exactly none of them have been successful, so I can only assume I'm just not meant to have one. And at this point, that's fine with me, because I am tired of being used and hurt and kicked aside. Bleh.
