Do the English really hate the Germans?

Another England against Germany football match this evening with the popular press full of anti-German slogans as usual. Where does this attitude toward Germans come from? Some say the War, others say its just that Germany has beaten England at football so many times. We may have beaten the Germans in the World Cup in '66 but since then the Germans have pretty much had it their own way. Are we right to harbour this grudge against the Germans, or isn't it time we started acting like grown-ups and treated the German people with respect? Isn't it about time we stopped mentioneing Hitler and Concentration camps and using it as "comedy"?
