How to add photos?

Only users with 500 or more posts, can upload photos. I suggest and I am not being snotty here, that you read over the links at the bottom of the page marked in blue labeled "FAQs" and "Guidelines". Hi Phatmat, welcome to myLot. Unfortunately you don't get to add photos to discussions until you hit 500 posts. Then yes you do get paid for uploading photos. You can upload photos to your profile now, but you won't ever get paid for those. Some of the other myLot milestones are, you get your rating star at 100 posts and you'll be able to cut and paste at 500.
