Do you have a nickname?

When people dont know me that much they call me by my first name but when my close friends or family calls me they call me by my nickname.

My name is Christina but alot of people call me pookie. Pookie has been my nickname since i was born and it just stuck. I was called pookie for the first year of my life and then my mother said we should start calling her by her real name or she will think her name is pookie...LOL...When people store my number in their phones they dont put christina they put pookie...

My name is very short so no I never got a nickname. My name is Dawn and there is not much you can do with that. When I was about twenty two and started dying my hair red that is when I started getting called other names. There were some where I worked just called me Red. Some of the customers refered to me as that redhead. It never did bother me that I never had a nickname. My daughter's name is heather dawn. She gets called heavy d a lot. That is because her cousin was younger than her and could never say her name right. Now that she is sixteen though she is called by her name only. I never did see much use for nicknames. I have a girlfriend who is called peaches. Her name is Sue but no one calls her by her name. I have another cousin who's name is Harry but he was called chip all growing up. Now that he is in his thirties it is hard to get people to call him Harry. He doesn't want to be called by a childs name now that he is older. So there are down falls to having silly nicknames.

Hi carolline_c! I do have a nickname but it is only my family who clls me by my nickname. My friends, business associates and acquaintances call me by my actual real first name. However my friends have shortened my real name and that is how they are calling me. Take care and have a nice day!

yes. I do have a nickname. All my school friends and college friends call me iyer and my real name is vijay. I feel very happy when anyone calls out my nickname. They can only be a close friend who call u like that. So, you can find out even before looking at him.

well, I have many friends and group of friends call me a nickname so i will be wellknown among them ... but the main thing is to be called by your real name when are with your friends when meet strangers so they will know your real name and it wont be forgotton or lost.

yes sometimes i am called cher or my hubby calls me cherbear or schatz (which means treasure in german)
