I have to tell you of my friend Buddy. He is a true friend indeed. He never leaves my side when I'm sad or lonely. He just somehow knows. He is a wonderful dog and deserves special treatment. He had been abused and abandoned when I got him. His mouth is deformed and I believe he suffers from depression, if dogs can do that. He is a bench leg feist and chihuahua mix.

I think dogs can suffer from depression and anxiety as well. Buddy is lucky to have you. I know my two dogs, especially the older one tend to get very upset if my hubby has to go out of town to work and will mope around whne I walk them searching for his car in the parking lot and sleeping next to his side of the bed until he comes home. Just be sure to always give him lots of love and praise and I bet Buddy will be just fine! Dogs really are better friends then people most of the time anyways!

Buddy stays in the bedroom all the time. Only coming out to eat, drink and go outside to potty. The bedroom is dark and that's one reason I think he is depressed.

Get him a nightlight for the bedroom - not too much elctricity being used but still something to brighten up his room! Maybe a new toy too! One that is soft and cushy and makes noise! Bubba and Ming love those kinds and they always cheer them up!
