I've always been a Johnny Cash fan, but this is the first time I had a chance to actually watch Walk the Line. I thought it was great. I know it's been out for awhile, but I hadn't had a chance to actually sit down and watch it until last night. Although the guy who played him looked nothing like him, but the more I watched it the more he seemed to look like Johnny Cash. Anyone else think so? Or is it just me?

Yeah, that's how it is with most 'too famous to be any good'-actors ... there in it less-and-less 'to perform the part' and more-and-more 'to get themselves some time in the public spotlight.'
Either that, or the director planned it that way ... to kinda show the metamorphosis from 'the Johnny Cash who was a lucky big-star' to 'the Johnny Cash whom the world had chewed up and spit out, the Johnny Cash we all know and love.'

I enjoyed the movie as well. I live in Hendersonville, TN and I have fished behind the Cash house several times. The house in the movie was actually filmed in California (where I was born) but it sure looks like this one did before it burned. I have some great pictures I took before and after the fire.
God Bless and Thanks!

I watched the movie a few months back when I was off, and I liked the movie myself. I guess I like watching to see how folks lives go and all, and i was curious as to how this movie was treated now that both Johnny and his wife June have passed on back in 2003; No,he didn't look like him, but I think he got the way he was, his essence if you may say so. I felt a bit ticked when this woman walked up to June Carter's character and commented on her divorce saying she was wrong and how positive she took the comment, though I know how that could feel myself divorced as well.

Yeah, I agree I think she took it too nicely she should have stood up for herself a bit more. Back then divorce wasn't as common it seems. You don't have to agree with everything everyone does, but you don't have the right to be judgemental, because no one is perfect. I kind of wanted to smack the woman lol.

I just watched it a couple of months ago and I too thought it was great. Not exactly true to life but a good movie. I, too have always liked his songs.

No, it's not true to life, but I really think they got the point across. I've alway lved Johnny and I was already a fan of Joaquin, but I was really worried he wouldn't be able to pull it off. I think he proved me wrong. He was great.

I didnt like it for the fact that it was a country music movie. I really don't like country music. The guy looks ugly. Thats all I'm going to say.
