During the summer my daughter has been going to bed between 9pm and 10 pm. But during the school year she will be in bed no later than 8:30 pm. What time do your kids go to bed?

Hi laurla! My kids generally go to bed between 8 and 8:30. Even my oldest (who is 8) goes to bed that early. They are allowed to read in their rooms for 1/2 hour, and then lights out. My 8 year old is usually asleep before he hits the pillow. I think that is just too funny. It's not that he's too early of riser, either. He's usually up around 6:30-7 am. The 3 year old is the one that is up the latest. She just fights sleep, and would read all night if I let her!

My daughter is 16 months old and she has the worst sleeping habits an infant can have. She sleeps after 12 in the night and wakes up at 10 the next day. Have tried everything but nothing works, this just seems to be her sleep routine. maybe once she goes to school I can hope for an early sleep time.

My niece was like that too. I think she finally stopped around 3-4 years. Once she started school she got to bed earlier quick because she was too tired otherwise!!

During the summer vacation, my son goes to bed as late as we parents do. We usually go to bed after eleven. In the evening both my wife and I surf online and my son watches TV or read novels. He won't go to bed earlier than us until we go to bed. But during his school days he goes to bed much earlier like ten in the evening because he has to get up early for school in the morning.

Hi, our kids go to bed around 10 at night or latest by 10.30 as they love to read a little before bed time. My younger one loves to play or just sleeps off doing so, but i make her read a little just like her elder sister. But we have made a fixed time for them to sleep and get up, so that a routine is made which makes up their full days routine as well. Be it winters or summers they are sleeping by 10.30 and get up around 6 in the morning for school. They do return from school and after lunch sleep for an hour in the afternoon as well. I think if we make a routine for our kids, their sleeping and waking up times, and set that up, their schedule is well set and planned for the wekdays. Weekends and holidays are let loose time, when they can get up and sleep at whatever time suitable to them. And they understand this very well and follow it too, as they know that its best for them.

My son stays up until around 11:00 most nights. My husband works nights, though, and the only time they get to spend together is in the evenings before my husband goes to work. My husband leaves between 9:30 and 10:00 for work. After he leaves, I let him play for a few more minutes, and then we start the bedtime routine. When my husband is working days, we change my son's schedule gradually and put him in bed around 9:30. When he gets older, we will probably have him to go to bed even earlier, because of school. But right now, I am a stay at home mom, so he can sleep late. He usually sleeps until around 9 am, sometimes even later.

My children ages 5 and 3 and both coming up on birthdays went to bed about 9 - 9:30pm during the summer. But school starts on Monday so I have been putting them to bed at 7:30. And its that early only because it takes them about a good hour or even sometimes longer to fall asleep. And they need their rest for school. Once they start falling asleep faster, I will let them stay up longer....but not by much..maybe 8 or 8:30pm.

As a child, I didn't really have a bed time during the holidays, as long as I was asleep by midnight most nights, although there were some exceptions. Until about 13 years old, my bed time on school nights was 8.00 or so. After that, no later than 10.
