Google, Web-search and Internet-services giant, will start putting ads on YouTube, its video-sharing site, The New York Times reported. Up to now, Google refrained from putting ads on the site to avoid alienating its viewers, the Times reported. Now, it will add 15-second video ads that appear after viewers begin watching clips. They'll take the form of an overlay on the bottom fifth of the screen, like the tickers that appear on news programs.
So I think this is a bad idea. I know there is nothing more annoying than ads like that on a video. I predict people will turn in droves to other video sites and the number of viewers will drop off considerably. What do you think?

I remember reading several months ago that Youtube will turn into a shared revenue site. So perhaps this is the first stage of that?
If so I think more people will be trying to get a video on there that generates 100,000+ views to make some money.
