is it really worth Direct TV? I have it now and I don't think it is anything special. I only use the channels that I would use on cable because I don't see any others that are very appealing. Another con is whenever there is a storm, there is a chance that the show will freeze up or turn off altogether. I have also seen the "Don't call us! we are working on a technical difficulty" screen several times. Is Direct TV worth it?

I have direct tv too. I like it. I have the plus package and get alot of channels. I like that there are 8 channels or so for my kids so theres always something on they like. We also get the Fox channels from NY and CA and get all the new shows. Where I live all we can have is direct tv, nothing else works, and cable is only 4 channels.

I've had Directv and I've had cable. I much prefer cable. You are exactly right, the weather can wipe the channels out. I know that when I had it, it didn't even have to be raining, and it would go out. Also, customer service was as slow as a snail!

The weather was so annoying lol. Yea that is true. Somtimes it isn't even raining and the screen goes black, than back to the program several times throughout. It did take them forever to fix the channels, whatever is wrong with them. Thanks for the response AmbiePam.
